01 Apostrofes en el lugar
incorrecto
Los apostrofes indican posesión y la
contracción de una palabra. Pero,
nunca se usan para crear una palabra
en plural.
En español:
-Los caballos están en el campo
- El caballo de Jane está por allá.
02 That vs Which
Usamos “that” cuando la información que lo acompaña es esencial
para que puedas entender la oración y usamos “which” cuando la
información no es necesaria para que la oración se entienda.

Incorrecto: Correcto:
- Those are the shoes which I - Those are the shoes that I
bought yesterday bought yesterday
- I bought a pair of shoes, that - I bought a pair of shoes, which
I'll be wearing tomorrow. I'll be wearing tomorrow.
En español:
-Compré esos zapatos ayer
- Compre un par de zapatos, los cuales me pondré mañana

Me vs I
Cuando te vas a referir a vos y a otra
persona, debes colocar siempre su
nombre de primero en la oración.
Incorrecto:
- Sara and me went to the cinema
- Give it to John and I to look after
Correcto:
-Sara and I went to the cinema
- Give it to John and me to look
after
Your vs You’re
Your You’re
Incorrecto: Correcto:
-Do you know when your -Do you know when you’re
coming over? coming over?
- Can I have one of you’re - Can I have one of your
biscuits? biscuits?
En español:
- ¿Sabes cuándo vendrás?
- ¿Puedo comer una de tus galletas?
05 Alot
Un error común entre los principiantes del
inglés, es escribir “a lot” (mucho), como si fuese
una sola palabra “alot”.
06 Then vs Than
Usamos “than” para hacer comparaciones
y usamos “then” para indicar que algo es
continuación de otra cosa, como cuando
explicas los pasos para realizar algo.
Incorrecto:
-She was better at it then him
- We’ll go to the baker first, than the coffee
shop
Correcto:
-She was better at it than him
- We’ll go to the baker first, then the
coffee shop
Uso correcto:
-They’re going to be here soon
- Their english is good
- The book is over there
En español:
-Ellos llegarán pronto
- Su inglés es bueno
- El libro está por allá

It’s vs Its
Usamos “it’s” como contracción de “it is”
o “it has” y la palabra “its” se usa como
un pronombre posesivo.
Its It’s
Incorrecto: Correcto:
-Its nearly the end of the -It’s nearly the end of the
month month
- The dog wanted it’s bone. - The dog wanted its bone.
En español:
-Ya es casi fin de mes
- El perro quería su hueso.
