Course Description This course covers the basic principles of DC and AC machines. It covers the theory,
principle of operation, and applications of dc generators and motors, transformers,
alternators, induction motors and synchronous motors.
Course Outcomes 1. Impart the applied theories of DC Machines that will prepare students for AC
Machines.
2. Impart the applied theories and principles of alternating current and electrical
machines that includes alternators, induction motors and synchronous motors.
3. Provide students the skills to explore recent technology and its application.
Course Format Lectures, discussion with active participation, board work, group work, course project,
laboratory work, problem solving, film showing, peer teaching, exercises, quizzes,
