2. If a previous version of Clipboard exists on
your PC and/or PDA, uninstall it per the
directions below.
Application Advisory
At the Set Up a Partnership menu,
select Guest Partnership. This will
enable proper transfer of data to the
System 1 platform.

1.4 Using Wireless
With wireless access, you will not need to use cables
to connect your Clipboard IS unit to the Internet or
your server. Your Clipboard IS unit can connect to an
802.11b WLAN or connect directly to other WLAN-
enabled devices. With Wi-Fi, you can:
• Connect to System 1
NOTE
The LED may continue to flash a blue
light to indicate that Wi-Fi is turned on,
but it does not necessarily mean a
connection has been established with
another device or access point.
When the Wi-Fi is off, the icon will change from green
or amber to gray.
NOTE
Some of the power saving modes may
affect the ability of the Clipboard IS unit
to connect to some devices and
networks. If you cannot connect to a
particular wireless network, try turning
off the Wi-Fi Power Save modes.

NOTE
To monitor the signal strength and
status of the Wi-Fi connection click
on iPAQ wireless icon and select
Manager > Status > More.
NOTE
HP does not support System 1 Notes.

NOTE
To locate the Device ID, open Settings >
System > HP Asset Viewer > Wireless
LAN. The software will display the
Device ID as the MAC address.

2.2.3 Acquiring a Computer Name From the
Network
1. Navigate to the computer on which the System 1
software is installed.
NOTE
When entering the computer
name, the entry is CAP and
DASH sensitive.

4. Press OK. The recent entry will appear in the
“DCM Servers” column.
NOTE
When double-tapping the name in the
DCM Server column, the Clipboard IS
unit will attempt to connect to the
Enterprise. Make sure that you make a
secure connection using either the
wireless or USB link.
6. Press OK.
NOTE
After making a successful connection,
the Clipboard IS unit will display the new
DCM entry in the Transfer Mgr screen
under “Add Connection”.

names from either column, note that
the direction of the transfer button will
change The transfer button will indicate
the direction in which it will transfer the
highlighted route.
