FSECU Downloading

FSECU Downloading Prepared by Lor Izzard and Robert Hadley

• The following presentation contains step by step information


detailing how to download the G150 FSECU fault log
• In preparation for this activity perform the following in
accordance with the G150 AMM
• Prepare the aircraft for safe maintenance
• Connect external (ground) power
• Once the FSECU download .txt file has been obtained
(via this download procedure), please email the file to
techops.midcabin.data@gulfstream.com for analysis
assistance

• Equipment / Tools required to complete this task:


• Laptop computer with current EATON FSECU download application
installed. (available via mygulfstream.com link to EATON site)
• RS232 Interface cable (commonly available at Radio Shack (P/N 26-117B)
or equivalent)
• Small blade flat head screwdriver (longer stem as shown)
• Flashlight

• Select both L & R Avionics overhead switches to “ON”


• Note: CABIN & GALLEY may be selected “ON” for interior lighting
functionality

• Pull the four FLAPS SLATS overhead circuit breakers shown

• Locate and remove the FSECU access panel in the LAV closet

• Locate and remove the FSECU 232 com port dust cover by
removing the two small flat head screws
• Note: These fasteners are not captive to the cap, so care must be taken
so that they are not dropped

• Note the FSECU S/N listed on the EATON data plate shown

• Connect the male (shown) RS232 cable end to the FSECU 232 com
port

• Ensure that the EATON download software has not yet been
launched and connect the female (shown) RS232 cable end to the
Laptop 232 com port

• Launch EATON download software by selecting the Icon shown on


the Laptop Desktop

• Select “View Fault Data”

• Verify Laptop com port selected matches Com port being utilized on
the Laptop. (most likely com1)
• Select “OK”

• Select “OK” (as the Flap Slat circuit breakers were pulled earlier
thereby removing FSECU power)

• Press and seat the four FLAPS SLATS overhead circuit breakers
shown

• EATON software will auto display this next screen


• Enter the FSECU S/N noted earlier and select “OK”

• Select “R: Read 32767 Faults”


• Note: This download will take several minutes (status screen will
display download progress)

• Select “Change File Storage Location”

• Highlight the destination folder on Laptop where FSECU download


is to be saved
• DO NOT enter a file name and simply select “Current Folder”

• Select “Save Faults To User Defined Folder”

• Verify .txt download file exists in the Laptop folder destination


selected earlier
• Note: Auto assigned file name should be the FSECU S/N followed by a
date time stamp as shown above where the S/N, in this case, was 484
downloaded December 09, 2009 at 9:29am

• Open the .txt download file to verify content

• Select “EXIT”

• Pull the four FLAPS SLATS overhead circuit breakers shown

• Disconnect the male RS232 cable end from the FSECU 232 com port

• Disconnect the female RS232 cable end from Laptop 232 com port

• Reinstall the FSECU 232 com port dust cover using the two small
flat head screws
• Note: These fasteners are not captive to the cap, so care must be taken
so that they are not dropped

• Press and seat the four FLAPS SLATS overhead circuit breakers
shown

• Select both L & R Avionics overhead switches to “OFF”


• Select CABIN & GALLEY overhead switches to “OFF”
• Disconnect external (ground) Power per AMM
