Aircraft Data Collection (ADC) Capability

In the frame of SKYWISE and FOMAX project, a

FDIMU software update is necessary to extend
the data captured. This extended set of data is
sent to FOMAX router which download up to
3GB of valuable data per day.

This service is enabled by updating DMU load in

the FDIMU to provide ADC capability.

ADC function is activated only for customer

having contracted skywise services.

Agenda of the Conference

1 Coming software main evolutions

• Improvement of APU hours and cycles computation

10 26th & 27th June, 2018 A320Family-New ACMS software

Coming software main evolutions
Improvement of APU hours and cycles computation

Description
• Increase of APU Hours/Cycles observed in ACMS reports
• ACMS APU life not aligned with CFDS
• Only on APU with more than 16383 hours or cycles concerned

Root Cause
• A temporary invalidity of the new labels (135 or 136)
• Switching in the acquisition of the ARINC labels sent by the ECB at FDIMU level
• Previous labels 132 and 133 reset and restart from zero (roll-over effect and offset
generated with 16383 value),
• The offset value (16383) is added to the data as soon as the new label is valid again
leading to the observed increase in the information reported in the ACMS.

Final resolution
FDIMU software upgrade which includes the elimination of the automatic offset calculation

New Load Report 15

New load report 15 developed to support the introduction of New Hard

Landing criteria

Evolution of AMM 05-51-11 for Hard landing , why ?

- Enhancement of the Hard Landing criteria:

- Minimized conservatism in the hard landing definition: extension of
limits
- Improved bounce Hard landing assessment: Incremental
acceleration introduced
- Lateral acceleration effect and Roll angle taken into account

13 26th & 27th June, 2018 A320Family-New ACMS software

Coming Software main evolutions
New Load Report 15

New AMM 05-51-11 limits for Hard Landing :

- Introduction of Nz kpi parameter:

Computed parameter taking consideration of a/c weight, Vertical acceleration (incremental),
Roll angle.
Directly computed by the New ACMS software and available in Report 15.
 No calculation required by the operators

- Ny kpi (lateral acceleration at touch down) directly available from load report 15

14 26th & 27th June, 2018 A320Family-New ACMS software

Coming Software main evolutions
New Load report 15

New AMM 05-51-11 limits for Hard Landing :

Hard Landing (Amber Zone):

1.80 ≤ Nz kpi < 2.06, or
0.45 ≤ Ny kpi < 0.5
Associated LR15 trigger codes : 4520, 4620, 4420, 4320

Severe Hard Landing (Red Zone):

Nz kpi ≥ 2.06, or
Ny kpi ≥ 0.5
Associated LR15 trigger codes: 4510, 4610, 4410, 4310

15 26th & 27th June, 2018 A320Family-New ACMS software

Coming Software main evolutions
New Load Report 15

New AMM 05-51-11 limits :

Hard Landing (Amber Zone):

 Inspection as per AMM 05 required prior next flight
 A/C Return into service if Nil Finding
 Airbus to be contacted Only in case of Finding

Severe Hard Landing (Red Zone):

 Inspection as per AMM 05 for severe hard landing
 Aircraft AOG
 Provide DFDR/QAR to Airbus for load assessment and further recommendations

Coming Software main evolutions
New Load Report 15

New AMM 05-51-11 limits for Hard Landing :

• New AMM 05-51-11 Hard Landing criteria Only applicable to aircraft fitted with New load report
15

• For aircraft fitted with Previous load report 15 standard the current AMM 05-51-11 remains (old
criteria)

• Dedicated AMM 05-51-11 task for New load report 15 scheduled for Q3 2018.

Coming Software main evolutions
New Load Report 15 : How to read it / use it ?

Code:
4520 or 4620 or 4420 or 4320: Hard Landing (Amber Event)

4510 or 4610 or 4410 or 4310: Severe Hard Landing (Red Event)

Or

Nz kpi / Ny

1.80 ≤ NZ kpi < 2.06 or 0.45 ≤ Ny kpi < 0.5 Hard Landing (Amber Event)

NZ kpi ≥ 2.06, or Ny ≥ 0.5 Severe Hard Landing (Red Event)

New Load Report 15

Further Improvement introduced with New software:

- Report Code 7000: Possibility to consult the last landing parameters. Stored
systematically after every landing (even normal)
 In case of a pilot report of a suspected hard landing, possibility to use the
code 7000 report to assess the event (even if below the limits)

- Report code 5600 & 5700 introduced for High Lateral acceleration In Flight
Triggering of a Load report 15 in case of High Lateral acceleration in Flight:
Ny > 0.35g
Refer to AMM 05-51-44 (Inspection after A/C Operation with High Lateral
Acceleration)

Coming Software main evolutions
New Load Report 15

Summary:

• New Load report 15 to support the introduction of New Hard Landing

Criteria
• AMM 05-51-11 dedicated Task for post mod aircraft
• All parameters necessary for classification of the severity of the event
available in the Load report 15
• Severity of the event directly available (without computation)
• Code 7000 : Possibility to consult the parameters of the last landing
(even if not hard)
