The Programme Resources
which when completed correctly will meet the assessment criteria for the qualification.
Each e-module also contains examples of evidence from successful learners, so that
you can see how other learners approached the tasks.
Perhaps it’s a while since you last studied for a qualification, or perhaps this is your very
first time! Our Study Skills Guides provide useful advice on subjects such as Time
Management, Critical Thinking, Use of Source Materials, and Drafting, Editing and
Referencing. These resources should help you make the most of your time on the
programme, and ensure that your portfolio evidence is completed to the required
standard.
Proformas:
There are a number of proformas available to help you with some of the administrative
tasks on the programme, such as collecting parental or headteacher consent for
video evidence, or providing a reference from a colleague as evidence towards the
qualification, as well as a proforma that you and your mentor will use when arranging
and recording your video observation.
5
The Video Observation Process
During your time on the programme, you must submit at least one video of a whole lesson for your mentor
to observe and assess. You may also submit a second video lesson if you and your mentor consider it
necessary for the generation of more evidence.
You and your mentor should discuss in advance the focus of the observation, including the specific
assessment criteria that you are hoping to meet during the observation. Your mentor will also sign off
additional assessment criteria which they notice being met during the session.
You should download and complete the relevant sections of the Lesson Observation Proforma before
sending it to your mentor. Once the observation is complete, the mentor will send this document back to
you for you to fill in the final section and upload it to Moodle.

Creating your evidence
Creating your evidence for the CME couldn’t be easier! You simply work through the tasks in the e-
modules, following the instructions carefully to ensure that you fully address all aspects of each task. If you
successfully complete all the tasks in each e-module, then you will have covered all the assessment
criteria for the CME, and will be awarded this prestigious qualification.
Many tasks give you the option to submit in written, video or audio form. For written evidence you must
include your name and your unique learner reference number (ULRN) in the header or footer on every
page of the document. For video evidence you must include a Video Consent Form for all participants
involved, and a Video Submission Form which details the access information for your video (see p10).
8
All evidence must be uploaded to the portfolio area of Moodle. Each piece of evidence must be named
in the following format:
Date – Unit Number – Task Number – Initials – ULRN e.g. 01/01/18 – Unit 1 – Task 1 – MJS - 000001
If your evidence is an observation report from your mentor, please name the file in this format:
Instructions for uploading your evidence to Moodle appear on the next page of this Programme
Handbook.
The Programme Team will mark your submission within 28 days and send you feedback. If the submission
does not pass, you will be able to resubmit as many times as you like until it is successful, up to your final 24
month registration expiry date. Once all of your evidence has been passed, you will be awarded the
qualification.
Depending on what time of year you submit, your portfolio may fall within the Trinity College London
moderation window. If that is the case then your portfolio will be sent to the exam board for verification
before the qualification can be awarded. This is likely to cause a few weeks’ delay in awarding the
qualification. This moderation window period falls at a different time each year, and learners will be
notified as soon as we have the dates for the next round of moderation.
9
Step 1: When you are ready to begin uploading your evidence, click on Portfolio.
Step 4: Make sure you click the Save Changes button or your files will not be saved.
Step 5: If your evidence is a video you must create a VImeo account and upload your
video as a private, password protected file. You must then return to Moodle and upload
the Video Consent Form(s) for the children & young people featured in the video, along
with the Video Submission Form which will state the URL and password for the video.
