Philosophy

I think that education should be fun, engaging and relevant to the world we live in. As our
lives become more and more connected, it’s important to link student learning to meaningful
events and activities that pertain to their future success in an ever-changing world. As a
current teacher, I think it’s important to connect the concepts and content of my class to the
circumstances, events and topics that are currently relevant. Students should be able to see
why the material they are engaging with in class is important and meaningful. I think
teaching should inspire students to think and problem-solve on their own and in collaboration
with others, concentrating on building real-world skills for the future, rather than focusing on
facts from the past.
