STORY
“MY LIFE”
Fun Facts
◦ I was born May 16, 2000 in a taxi on the way to
the Guadalajara Hospital in Jalisco, Mexico
◦ I given the name Nayeli which means ”I love
you” in the language of Zapotec Indians of
Mexico.
◦ My full name is actually Nayeli Guadalupe
Lopez Guzman.
◦ Guadalupe is my middle name after the Virgin
of Guadalupe from the Catholic Church
◦ The youngest of three children.
• In kindergarten, I was selected
for “La escolta” which is the
honor roll and you get to
march with the flag every
morning during the pledge to
the flag.
◦ I was enrolled in a private
school just for girls since
the first grade so I never
had any male friends
growing up.
◦ I am the one in the very
back wearing a pink long
sleeve because pink has
always been my favorite
color.
◦ My hobbies in elementary
school school included
drawing and maladaptive
daydreaming.
• I am the one with the closed
eyes.
• I won the “most creative
student” award in the second
grade after a teacher saw my
notebook full of drawings.
2011
◦ I moved to the United
States of America for the
first time after obtaining my
permanent residence's card
along with my family.
◦ I moved to Phoenix,
Arizona and have lived
there ever since.
◦ I didn’t speak a word on
English
◦ Was enrolled to Sunland
Elementary School, Home
of the Scorpions
Middle School
◦ I was selected and enrolled
for the National Junior
Honor Society.
◦ More than just honor roll,
NJHS serves to honor those
students who have
demonstrated excellence in
the areas of scholarship,
service, leadership,
character, and citizenship.
High School
Freshman Year
◦ I enrolled at Cesar Chavez
High School and attended
all four years.
◦ I maintained a 4.0 gpa my
freshman year and was
chosen for the honor roll.
◦ My extracurriculars included
the French Club and
Women’s Beginner Choir.
• Sophomore
Year of High
School
◦ I made it to the honor roll
my second year of high
school keeping a 4.0 gpa
◦ My second year learning
French and was now
enrolled in Glee Show
Choir.
◦ I was a proud Champion of
Cesar Chavez High School.
 I began my first job at
sixteen years old at Cold
Stone Creamery in 2017.
I currently still work there
part-time after I quit
Tmobile and needed to
balance the college life.
 Began a
modeling
career as a
hobby in 2017.
 Graduated Cesar Chavez High
School being a National Honor
Society Member, Glee Show
Choir Member, Top 10% of
senior class and with a full ride to
GCU and ASU.
My dream school was NAU but
didn’t receive any scholarships.
These are my best
◦ Erika Fonseca has been my best friend since the
friends from High sixth grade.

I am now a freshman at Arizona
State University majoring in
Communications and minoring in
English Literature
 I chose to attend
Arizona State
University
Now a member of
Alpha Gamma Delta
and a writer for The
Odyssey Online as
my college
extracurriculars.
