EPOFINE® - 1556 / FINEHARD® – 3486-2

(COLD CURE EPOXY RESIN SYSTEM)

PRODUCT

EPOFINE®- 1556 is a Bisphenol-A based liquid epoxy resin. FINEHARD®- 3486-2 is a

colorless, low viscosity, modified amine hardener.

APPLICATION

EPOFINE®- 1556/ FINEHARD® –3486-2 system is recommended for room temperature

curing. An ideal application is for manufacturing composite objects using hand lay-up
technique. This resin system is clear and colorless and gives colorless laminates. Appropriate
color can be obtained by adding Epoxy pigment pastes of chosen color.

SPECIAL FEATURES

The following advantages make it ideal for industrial use:

• Simple mixing ratio (Resin : Hardener = 100 : 50).

• Tolerant mixing ratio.
• Low viscosity resin/hardener mix, ensures proper flow.
• Excellent water resistance.
• Very Good chemical resistance and electrical insulation.

The components are to be weighed accurately and mixed to get a homogenous consistency. It
is necessary to ensure the materials from sides and bottom are also incorporated in to the mix.
For mixing larger quantities, use shallow vessels and it is also advisable to divide the mix into
small lots to get increased usable life.

Handling : Use hand gloves and protective glasses.
Disposal : Dispose by incineration or as per local regulations.

SAFETY INFORMATION

Flash point : >150o C

Precautions : In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water.
In case of eye irritation, bathe the affected eye with running
water for at least 15 minutes, and get immediate medical
attention.
