The College:
Promoted by SMT Group – engaged in consulting, training, and education since 1999, GLF Business School is a Post
Graduate College approved by West Bengal State Council of Higher Education and affiliated to the West Bengal State
University. Since its very inception, the college acts as a catalyst to the evolution of management education in the 21st
century and intends to embed ‘Business Leadership’ model in traditional courses in management, GLFBS has a strong
professional network with industry, academia, and government agencies. The college is situated on a certified green
building campus with modern infrastructure sprawling over 2.5 acres of land at the heart of the Salt Lake City, Kolkata.

The Program:
MBA in Real Estate Valuation & Management (MBA-REVM) is a two-year Post Graduate Degree Program focusing Real
Estate Valuation & Management affiliated to the West Bengal State University. The MBA-REVM degree program is
designed to inculcate the understanding of important elements of the multi-disciplinary and complex process of valuation
as well as management of Real Estate aimed to develop a pool of technically trained manpower readily available in the
field of real estates. The MBA-REVM focussing Valuation of Real Estate, probably the only one of its kind in India,
prepares the students for Government and Semi-Government organizations, Banks, Insurance Companies, Municipalities,
Municipal Corporations, Business Houses that have to deal with immovable property, industrial estate, commercial
complex, housing estates etc. A successful candidate with only 2 years of experience is eligible practice as a professional
valuer. The course equips the students for empanelment with the Disinvestment Department of the Government, Life
Insurance Corporations, General Insurance Companies, Banks, High Courts, Debt Recovery Tribunals etc. who maintain
their own panel of qualified Appraisers / Valuers for determination of market value of real property. MBA-REVM will
prepare a student to be a leader in this industry. The students of MBA-REVM after successful completion of the course
will be eligible for the Associate Membership of I.Esma which is recognized by Indian Banks’ Association and necessary to
be a valuer of a Bank or Financial Institution in India.

Scope in India: Career as Practising Valuer
In next 20 to 30 years, it is expected that  Registered Valuers are empanelled by Income Tax u/s 34AB of Wealth Tax Act to calculate
our country will see a tremendous Capital Gain Tax and declaration of Wealth. Income Tax authority, for recruitment of
growth in real estate and thus the Registered Valuer, recognises 2 years post graduate degree in valuation of real estate from
emerging trend of huge demand for a recognised University. The prerequisite experience becomes only 2 years in relevant field

 Very recent trend – to determine the market value under international Financial Reporting System very skilled valuers are required.
 Valuers are required to calculate Capital Gain Tax. When an asset is sold – capital gain tax is attracted to the seller. Registered
valuers empanelled with wealth tax, are required for the valuation of capital gain tax and wealth tax. Registered valuers of real
estate and plant & machinery under wealth tax rule are the highest form of valuer as recognized in India.
 Valuers are required to compute Wealth Tax.
 For determining compensation under Land Acquisition Act – Valuers are required.
 Valuers are required for Debt Recovery Tribunal and High Courts.
 Company Valuation.

Who Can Join:


Graduates from any recognized University in any discipline including BE, BTech, BSc, LLB, BCom, BA with or without
industry/professional experience can pursue MBA – REVM. Selection will be based on credentials of the candidate.

 Rs.10000 and Rs.5000 is chargeable separately for the Learning Resources and Library respectively (one time).
 Late payment charges of Rs.2000 and penalty interest @ 2% per month or part shall be levied in case a payment is
not made within the due dates.
 Payment once given will not be refunded for any reason.
 Payment of Fees is to be made in Cash or by Cheque/Draft favouring: “GLF Business School”.

Loan / Scholarship is available as per government norms to all eligible Minority / SC-ST-OBC students from appropriate
government agencies.

Executive Scholarship will be available up to 50% to selected meritorious candidates with at least 5 years of experience in
industry, however, Examination Fees and Learning Resources / Library charges are payable additionally in those cases.

Education Loan is available to all eligible students from PSU and other banks as per their respective policy.
