2) Solve the following initial value problems

a)

x′ = −y
y′ = x x(0) = 1 y(0) = 1

b)

x′ = y
y ′ = −x x(0) = 1 y(0) = 1

3) Consider the system described by

x′′′ + 3x′′ + 2x′ = u

Derive a state-space representation (i.e., ẋ = Ax + Bu) of the system

4) Greenwood Problem 1.2. Also provide a plot of VL vs time between 0 and 5 ms.
