I. OBJECTIVES
Introduction to Applied Economics
Content -Basic economic problems and the Philippine socioeconomic
development in the 21st century
The learner demonstrates an understanding of… economics
Content Standards as an applied science and its utility in addressing the
economic problems of the country.
The learners shall be able to analyze and propose solution/s
Performance Standards to the economic problems using the principles of applied
economics.
The learners identify the basic economic problems of the

At the end of the lesson, the learners should have:

strip the group will have to shout for their group name so that
they will be acknowledged. The group being acknowledged
will have to show their answer to the class and wait for the
teacher to The group with the highest number of points
earned wins.

The teacher will show to the class slides with five (5) different
pictures common to an issue or problems in our society. Let
the learner’s guess the issue or problems depicted.

Lastly the teacher will show photos of newspaper headlines.


Let the learners analyze each picture.

sum up all those words into a statement that best connects
those words? Why do you come up with such words or
statement?
B. ANALYSIS
- Are these issues or problems relevant in our society
nowadays? How can you say so?
-Are these related to economics? How can we say that
economics is an applied science?

The teacher will give each group a manila paper to be used
for this activity. The teacher will let the group to think for any
raw materials found in their locality. He will let them decide to
