I am currently a final year chemical engineering student at The University of Adelaide. Please

Besides my strong passion in the mining industry, your pioneering spirit in The Digital Mine,
your approaches to sustainable development and the inspiring stories from your staff have
greatly motivated me to pursue opportunities to work with your team. Kicking off my career at
Rio Tinto will be a great chance to develop into a professional engineer with specialist
knowledge and skills, by which I believe that I can make significant contributions to your
organization as well as human progress.

I am undertaking a bachelor’s degree while working a part-time job and actively participate in
various extracurricular activities. This has allowed me to acquire a solid knowledge in chemical
engineering principles as well as enriched my skills in task management and working well in
a deadline-driven environment. Having an eagerness to learn and an aim to be better, I have
always strived to give every task my best effort to achieve the highest quality in my works.
Within a team, I have been described as a supportive and goal-oriented team player, utilizing
my project management skills, working collaboratively and respectfully with others and
motivating them to accomplish the common goals. My interest and curiosity in cultural
diversity have also driven me to enthusiastically engage in different extracurricular activities
to enhance my cultural understanding and obtain an outstanding ability to work in
multi-cultural teams.

I worked with Tarac Technologies as an intern to propose an effective alternative separation

technique that can meet customer’s requirements, reduce operating costs and maximize profit.
This 6-week industrial placement has offered me a chance to improve my analytical,
organizational and problem-solving skills and gain knowledge in winery residual treatment.

I believe that my knowledge and skills can help me to fit into Rio Tinto Graduate Program and
