The study aimed to describe and compare the study skills of Grade-10 Learners in

Tarlac National High School-Annex. It utilized the descriptive-comparative design to

answer the questions in chapter 1 using the study skills assessment questionnaire.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following; profile of the respondents, the respondents

study skills described and compared as to time management and procrastination,

concentration and memory, study aids and note taking, test strategies and test anxiety,

organizing and processing information, motivation and attitude, Reading and Selecting

Main idea and Writing, The Respondents Study Skills compared as to their profile, and

Implication of the study.

The study found out that Grade 10 learners are well organized in their study skills

but male are more organized than females. Additionally learners under the category of

upper middle income are usually using their study skills well than learners under the lower

category.
iv
In light of the findings, the following recommendations were derived: Students

should enhance more their study skills through using and applying it on their tasks. It helps

them to gain more knowledge and other skills to accomplish their tasks. On the other hand,

Teachers should use teaching materials and strategies for the students to learn better and

apply their study skills effectively. Additionally Principal should come up with a program

for the students to enhance more their study skills by seminars that discusses the study

skills and how beneficial is it and how to improve it. Lastly, Parents should provide more

attentions to their children to motivate them in achieving good grades and to enhance more

their study skills.
