How is a Women’s Circle structured?

We usually meet up on the last Saturday evening of the month. One member of the Circle is
the host and welcomes us in her home while 2-3 others are the „mothers“ of the Circle and
prepare the theme and content. The theme is not revealed to the group in advance.
We ask everyone to bring their own yoga mats, blankets and meditation cushions if they own
some. We also usually try to bring a few snacks to share amongst us. Our meetings begin at
6:30 pm with some chatting and snacking and at 7 pm we initiate the formal Circle. If we
have newcomers amongst us, we do a short introduction round and talk about our
„agreements“ which are the foundation of all our gatherings (a more detailed post on the
nature of these agreements will follow soon).
After that we read an invocation to ask the divine feminine to bless and guide our Circle.
Then the mothers introduce the theme of the evening and explain the first activity. These
activities vary strongly from one Circle to another and can encompass meditation, yoga,
chanting, artwork, journaling, dancing and partner or group exercises. Between activities we
do 2-3 „sharing circles“ in council style (this will also be explained in the upcoming post
about the agreements) where we share our experiences and stories related to the theme. After
the sharing and the activities we close the Circle with another invocation. Then those who
want to stay a little longer will finish the rest of the snacks and chat a little more:-)
In theory we have a rotating system of hosting and mothering. In practice not everyone can or
wants to invite us to their homes and/or meet up between Circles to organize the content and
that’s totally fine. But all those who are willing to are welcome to be part of this wonderful
process of co-creation! Our meetings are non commercial and totally free or charge and there
is no obligation whatsoever to attend regularly. If you are interested to be part of our
