NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 30th November, 2017
G.S.R. 1471(E).—Whereas the draft of the Major Port Trusts (Payment of Fees and Allowances to
Trustees) (Amendment) Rules, 2017 was published, as required by sub-section (2) of section 122 of the
Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963) vide notification number G.S.R. 1067(E), dated the 28th August,
2017 in the Gazette of India, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (i), inviting objections and suggestions from all
persons likely to be affected thereby before the expiry of forty-five days from the date on which copies of
the Official Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public;
And whereas the copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on the 28"' August,
2017;
And whereas no objections and suggestions have been received from the public within the time
period specified aforesaid;
Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 122
of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules
further to amend the Major Port Trusts (Payment of Fees and Allowances to Trustees) Rules, 1981, namely:-
1. Short title and Commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Major Port Trusts (Payment of
Fees and Allowances to Trustees) (Amendment) Rules, 2017.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
2. In the Major Port Trusts (Payment of Fees and Allowances to Trustees) Rules, 1981, in rule 3,-
(a) in clause (i), for the words "rupees two hundred and fifty", the words "rupees three thousand"
shall be substituted;
(b) in clause (ii), for the words "rupees hundred", the words "rupees one thousand" shall be
substituted;
(c) for the proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely :—
"Provided that the aggregate amount of fees payable to any Trustee in respect of the meetings
of the Board or the Committees held during any calendar month shall not exceed rupees ten
thousand".
