A beautiful sunny day with the breeze blowing in my face smelling the scent of grass and trees

all around me. There's nothing more satisfying then being at that pond breathing in the fresh air that is

given to us every day. I am so grateful for being able to go down there and enjoy it the entire time I am

there. Sometimes, when I am fishing, I like to take my shoes off and walk into the water and feel the soft

ground beneath my feet. It’s almost like walking on a cloud because it is so soft. When I am at the pond

behind my grandmother's house, I feel at peace. No one is bothering me; it is just me fishing for

largemouth bass and enjoying the day. Just the thought of being there brings a smile to my face,

knowing that I can go there whenever I want and find peace.

While I am there, I like to fish (I am an avid angler) for bass for the most part. The best part

about it is picking a bait that I think will work and it really does work. It makes me feel accomplished

when I choose the right bait because fish can be picky about what they want to eat. Along with that, just

making the cast at certain points in the pond or by cover (fallen trees) and feeling the line tighten up,

knowing there is a fish on the end of it, is exhilarating. As I set the hook into the fish's mouth and feel

the fish fighting, watching it trying to shake the hook out of its mouth in the water is an experience that I

will never forget, even as I grow older catching a fish will be just as exhilarating as catching the one

before. Once the fish is reeled in and I get it onto the bank, I like to admire the beautiful colors and

patterns on the fish. I am in awe the whole time as I get the hook out of the fish's mouth and take a few

pictures of it to remember the moment. Then I release the fish back into his home to live another day

and to get bigger for the next time I catch him. This is where I am content with life is at that pond behind

my grandmother's house, fishing sunrise to sunset with the wind blowing in my face and the sun beating
down on me. Sometimes, when I fish my Dad comes with me to keep me company while I am fishing. He

used to be big into fishing until he had my sister and I to start looking after. Anyways, when we were

down there fishing side by side and we doubled up on fish (this means we are both reeling in a fish at

the same time). This was such an amazing experience I got to share with my Dad because it was just a

great father-son moment that I wish other fathers and sons would share together.
