e The online course I’m teaching in for this activity is asynchronous. In this online
d activity, my online students will use a simulation on historyglobe.com to have an
a individual experience based upon their unique choices. Each child’s end result will be
g different, and I will grade them online by viewing their screenshot sent in through
o seesaw.

P Online Activity
e Each student will log into seesaw and view a video posted by
d the teacher. The video will explain a short synopsis of
a Jamestown and its importance to not only the Tidewater area,
g but also to the rest of America. It will also have a second video
o showing students how to simply take a screenshot and upload
g it. The video will discuss topics such as settlers, Indians,
y colonies, exploration, food sources, and how the english
traded with Indians. After this short overview, consisting of
visuals and definitions, students will then be directed to the
interactive Jamestown simulation via a link.

Students will begin by clicking the “start the Adventure”

button on the screen. As the simulation progresses students
will be asked a series of questions, all dictated by their
previous answer choices. Throughout the simulation students
must choose locations on maps, make decisions, and think
critically. When each question is asked the students have the
option to consult with a colonist, a native american, and the
colonial charter. Based on the suggestions from each individual
or document the student must make a decision on furthering
Jamestown and their colony. The students actions will affect
their outcome.

After the student has completed the simulation they will

screenshot their results and turn them in via seesaw.

The student should have a much better understanding of

American and American Indian perspectives, the cause and
effect of actions based on other people, and good decision
making skills.
