Final Reflection

What skills did you master in this course? How are they reflected in the signature

assignment? Be specific. Overall, I think I got really good at developing and analyzing a

proposition. Since this was the main part of starting all arguments, it was something I

wanted to learn more in depth. This is reflected in my signature assignment right in the

beginning. In order to come up with the proposition that I used, I had to come up with

many propositions and have them analyzed by my peers. This allowed me to get the pros

and cons of the proposition. Once I had pros and cons, I was able to construct one solid

proposition from 3 different ones. I combined all the pros and eliminated the cons from

the proposition. This made for a much more organized and appealing proposition for my

assignment.

What did you learn in this assignment that will help you in other classes and/or in

your career? I learned about the basics of argumentation, which is used in everyday life.

Being able to build a good proposition, look through all the pros and cons of a subject,

and come to a good conclusion that works for everyone will help tremendously in other

classes and my career. I am trying to move up to a regional position for the company I

work for currently and when I get there, I will need the skills I have learned in order to

communicate well with my bosses at the corporate level.

How does this assignment connect with what you have learned in other Gen Ed

courses you have taken? The assignment connects with what I have learned in other

Gen Ed courses by having a detailed outline and explanation for everything I needed to

accomplish and learn through it. I would say that the assignment has also taught me

important life values and lessons needed to do well in life. The same goes for quite a few

of the Gen Ed classes I have taken in the past. I think that the entire course will be

extremely helpful for me in life and my career.
