Improving HIPPY by Advertising More

While taking the class PS 3003 Project Design, I had an assignment where I had to

choose a company and use a SWOT analysis to select a potential problem that needed to be

addressed. I chose a project stakeholder from the company that I selected and began to analyze

where advertisement can help used to promote growth in their organization.

Background/ Problem

The project begun by researching the background of the HIPPY organization and how it

started in the state of Arkansas, along with the growth it has had within the years it started. The

growth of the organization has a long history and is more successful but the lack of

advertisement for smaller towns is where the organization lacks. It seems that more steps need to

be made to help continue the growth, especially in smaller area.

Purpose of Project

The purpose of the project was to take a closer look into where advertisement is being

used in today’s generation and how families that are already involved got connected. The goal

was to find all the possible sources to start the advertisement growth and to provide more

efficient growth for the organization in small and bigger areas.

Research Method and Procedures

The research method was used through a surveying sample to employees that worked for

the organization and families that were already apart of the organization. The employees and

families were surveyed through a Questionnaire data. The employees were asked on how toften

they looked at different advertising resources and if they thought growth could occur through

advertising. The families within the organization were asked through a survey of which resource

that got them involved.

Analysis and Findings

The survey data concluded that billboards are often looked at more than expected,

Facebook is the main social media used, and communication through others is how the majority

of current families became involved in the organization. Through the data is seemed that there

are ways to build the growth of advertising, it will just be done through a planned process.

Recommended Action Plan

The recommended action for the organization was to create a social media Facebook

account to help the word on social media spread with adding content about the organization and

the families that are growing within it. It was recommended to rent a billboard for a 12 weeks

process and then revaluate within continuing on with it or not. This would allow for more open

lines of connections with others in smaller towns and even bigger ones as well.
