A Classroom Compact is an
agreement between a student, their
parent/guardian, and their teacher
that outlines how all three parties will
share in the responsibility and work
together to improve the student’s
academic achievement as he/she
works toward reaching or exceeding
grade-level standards.
The Classroom Compact gives a
detailed blueprint of the
responsibilities expected of each party
(student, parent, and teacher), and by
signing, each pledges their
commitment to uphold their
individual responsibilities.
The Classroom Compact
also explains how the
teacher and parent will
communicate about student progress,
issues that may arise, or any other
matters or concerns.
The Classroom Compact also shares
strategies that parents can use at home
to assist and encourage their child to
help them succeed.
Just as home involvement is critical to a
child’s success, parents’ involvement in
the classroom and school can be very

participating in the classroom and

The Classroom Compact is important for

completion which leads to higher grades
