Narrative Report
Simultaneous Earthquake Drill

The school’s first quarter simultaneous earthquake drill this year was held at Cagasat
National High School -Main on February 21, 2019. The drill was participated by students,
teachers, PNP and BFP personnel, and the members of Municipal Local Disaster Risk
Reduction Management of Cordon.
The drillwas executed with the different activities including the duck, cover and hold,
rescue and first aid, and fire drill. The bell rung to signify the start of drill and followed by a
sequence of activities. The drill itself was evaluated by the representative of Philippine
National Police, Bureau of Fire and Municipal Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management
of Cordon. The school’s coordinators, Mr. Romulus Y. Guzman, OIC-SDRRM of the JHS
and Mrs. Judith E. Delos Santos, OIC-SDRRM of the SHS facilitated and documented
theactivity.
During the symposium, Fire Marshal, Inspector Baron T. Moralit, mentioned in his
evaluation that everyone must be alert at all times. He stressed the intensifiedpreparationof
rescue members and first aiders. Being a member of the rescue and first aid team, he should
equipped with all the skills necessary to perform the task. Meanwhile, Police Inspector Allan
D. Batara, the deputy chief of police of Cordon, agreed with the findings of the Fire Marshal
Moralit and added that there should be a training of student-rescuer. Moreover, Mr. Emerson
M. Saldivar, Municipal Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer, reminded that
every participant should to learn to report immediately of anything unknown and untoward
event relative to any disaster. He also mentioned the importance of drill and through constant
recall of the execution of duck, cover and hold, this drill can reduce the risk of any
consequence of earthquake.

In sum, the activity was performed without any untoward incident happened.
