 21ST CENTURY STUDENTS SKILLS
The 21st century skills are a set of abilities that students need to develop in order to succeed in
the information age. 21st century allows students to be creator of the information.
In the 21st century focus is being put on these skills:

PROBLEM SOLVING:
As society is advancing the complexities are also being multiplied. So to be successful in this age
we need to train our mind that how problems need to be solved. Students who are not able to
think proactively towards solving problem will have a hard time in finding employment. So
students need to develop the ability to analyze and solve problems.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:
Students must communicate with each other because good communication skills will serve
them well both in personal and professional lives. So students need to develop good
communication skills so that they can convey their messages with meaning and understanding
across various cultures and context.

ICT LITERACY:
Students should use digital technology and communication tools such as computer, iPads etc to
access manage, integrate and evaluate information from websites. Access to online learning
and resources construct new knowledge.

COLLABORATION AND TEAMWORK:

Students need to collaborate to share common interests and develop understanding. They
should work together to reach a goal. Cooperate with each other and help others.
CRITICAL THINKING:
Critical thinking requires to use your ability to reason. So the students need to develop good
critical in order to differentiate between useful and useless things to make a decision or to
solve a problem. So by looking at problems in a new way and in deep manner one can succeed.

CREATIVITY:
Creativity is a visual outlet that inspires students to see who they are and what they can do.
Students need to think and work to develop creativity in them and solve problems. They must
develop strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills in order to be successful
in an interconnected and complex world.

MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:

Today students need to develop social and emotional competencies to navigate complex life. So
to succeed in 21st century students must be able to create and evaluate information from
media and technology.
