Reflective Analysis

The Corporation is an interesting documentary film. It captivates my vision as a

person with few knowledge about business and its everything. At first, it is seen in the
video that a corporation is abusive in terms of gaining profits, that violates some rights of
the people. It may be seen that corporations are not that good at perspectives, but I have
no idea why really it is considered bad if it is all about business. Yes, it considers group
of people to grow a business together, to build a name to hold products onto them. Some
scenarios like workers are underpaid while the product is overpriced are issues that are
easily seen in this.
As seen on the documentary, gaining money through connections is the main goal
of a corporation. Building good connection is a must because as a stand-alone human,
he needs a good image to survive on the world of business. Having a great mask to hide
its true identity can help to sustain the profit it needs to grow. Supporting some charities
can give a good image, but the suffering of manpower is another problem there. There is
a part where the jacket is so expensive but the person who made it is underpaid, which
is not fair.
Enough evidence are dropped in the documentary from reports, accounts and
activists. The consideration that corporation is a stand-alone person, when you look on
its psychological status can be considered psychopathic in nature. Since it grows to much,
the people under its power can be on a state of dictatorship, which is inevitable through
the power of its attorneys if ever that the issue is sent to judicial department. This crucial
event had a large impact to the world today.
One of the major example given there is the drug injected to the cows to boosts its
capacity to produce milk. It can be seen at two sides, it is good that the production is
better than enough, but is it safe? And yes, it is not safe. But the power of corporations
are seen there, as the testing of quality control are even conducted by the corporation
that all wants to earn money. Also, corporations contributed a lot in every pollution on
earth. Exploitation to the people of third-world countries are also a major highlight there.
A classic example of this is the substandard wages paid to workers of Nike in Indonesia,
who get less than one percent of the marked price of the goods they manufacture.
We cannot blame stockholders as they only invested money for one thing, for it to
have profit. But the bad thing there is when they only consider themselves, without
checking their manpower. Things are considered, and after the times, corporations
became productive and pro to manpower.
The documentary is effective in sending its purpose. Since it is assisted by
accounts, its reliability is not a question. Its arguments are well delivered and explained.
People from different education institutions also helped in keeping its reliability.
