Amy:Hi,Roderick!
Roderick:Hello Amy. How was your vacation?
Amy:Fine. I visited my aunt in Manila. She lives in a subdivision where all the houses
look like the same.
Roderick:Tell me more. Did you meet new friends? What things did you see?
Amy: I was with my cousin Richard, most of the time. He has a dog named Extro
whom we took for walks around the subdivision. Sometimes , my aunt would take us to
the shopping mall.
Roderick: To the shopping mall?
Amy:Sure. We went to Show mart. It’s a big building where there are many stores.
They sell all kinds of things-toys, clothes, books and many more. We also watched a
movie Starwars II.
Roderick:At the mall?
Amy: Yes! There are three cinemas at the mall.
Roderick: I’d like to visit the city,too,one day and see the mall.
3.Discussion
1. Who were talking in the dialogue? What were they talking about? How did Amy
spend her vacation?

Story:
“At the School Yard”
By Myrna J. Hipolito
One morning, Pam and Sam met at the school yard.
“Good morning,Sam”Pam greeted Sam.
“Good morning,Pam,”answered Sam.
Who met Sam?

“Oh,you have a new bag,”said Sam.


“Yes, my aunt Pat bought it for me,”Pam told Sam.
“She also bought me a red hat to go with my red shoes”Pam said with pride.
What new things does Pam have?
Who bought Pam’s new things?
“I wonder how I can thank Aunt Pat,”
Pam thought aloud.”Pam,why not make a thank you card for her?”Sam said.
What will Pam do to thank Aunt Pat?
“That’s a great idea Sam!
I’m sure Aunt Pat will be happy”
“Thank you, Sam”Pam gratefully said.
“You’re welcome,Pam.Good bye.”
“Goodbye,Sam.”
