About FSSAI
FSSAI lays down science-based standards for articles of food and regulates their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure
availability of safe and wholesome food to 130 crore citizens of the country. The authority is also responsible for creating an information network
across the country so that the public, consumers, etc receive rapid, reliable and accurate information about food safety and hygiene and related
issues of concern.

NMQS
A National Milk Quality Survey is being carried out across India covering all the States and Union territories in the country for assessing the quality
of milk available to the consumers with focus on unsafe/adulterated milk. The milk samples are being tested for the Fat and SNF content and
presence of 14 most common adulterants under a common SOP. More than 130 cities will be covered across 35 States/UTstaking approx.1700
samples. The survey is being carried out under the guidance of a State Level Steering Committee.

Ensuring safe and nutritious food for 130 crore Indian citizens on Pan-India basis calls for massive outreach efforts. FSSAI rmly believes this
can only be achieved in partnership with multiple stakeholders viz. Industry Associations, Corporates (both within and outside the food business),
Civil society Organisations and Academic/ Research Bodies. In light of the above, we are pleased to invite various stakeholders to support the
Safe and Nutritious Food and other nutrition related initiatives. It’s a participatory call for the collective journey towards creating a culture of food
safety and nutrition across the country.
