SCHOOL TRANSPORT POLICY

For Parents

1.1 (a) Initiation of the Transport facility (Parent)

1. Format under Annexure B to be filled by parents who would like to avail bus
facility Once opted for the bus facility, it will be applicable term wise (Total 3
terms-April to July; August to November; December to March). Withdrawal
during this period is not permitted unless withdrawal from school or in case of
shifting of residence. No refund will be given in case of mid-term withdrawal.

2. Transport Fee as per Annexure A to be paid by the parent within one week
from the date of confirmation sent by the school on the availability of transport
facility.

1.1 (b) Maintenance of the Transport Facility (Parent)

1. Parents to make sure that their children are at the designated stop 10 minutes
before the given time schedule. The bus would not wait beyond the scheduled
time (2 minutes) as per the guidelines given in Student Planner.

2. Parent or guardian/maid/driver should show the Parent ID card (issued by the

school) to the bus attendant at the time of pickup and drop off. Parent ID card
to be used by parents only. (For April Session please take the temporary id
card from school on or before 31st March 2018)

3. No parents are allowed inside the campus before the buses leave the school.

4. Phones / iPads or any other electronic device, is not permitted in any school
bus. If found with any student, it will be confiscated by the school.

5. Parents should not call up the bus driver / bus attendant to stop the bus or for
any other request without the knowledge of the school Transport In-charge.
 Parents to keep in touch with the school’s transport in-charge for any kind of
concern.

6. Parent/s to inform the school by visiting the campus (in case of emergency) or
informing the Class Teacher (through Student Diary), if his / her ward has to
leave early.

7. In case of any complaint or any change in stop or diversion of route etc. parents
are requested not to interact with the drivers / bus attendant directly. Instead,
parents are requested to submit these in writing to the school

8. Driver’s are responsible of taking care of each bus that is provided by the School
any damage to the bus/es caused by any student/s will be recovered from the
parent/s of the student/s.

9. It is recommended that the teacher travelling in the bus fill the checklist, on a
daily basis. Transport in-Charge will provide the same to each bus Didi. The
form to be handed over to Didi and they will submit to Transport In charge
daily.

Procedures to be followed to make this facility more effective

(School Admin/Parents/Teachers)

1. Students can opt for only one bus route for their pickup and drop, which means
they will have to use the same bus routes for their morning pickup and
afternoon / evening drop. If any student wants to use two bus routes, then
they will have to pay for both bus routes

2. Students are assigned to buses and pickup / drop off points. No change in
either bus or bus stop is permitted without the prior approval of the Principal.

3. The school is responsible for taking care of the buses that are provided by the
School and any damage to the vehicle caused by the student(s) will be
recovered from parents of the student(s). Not following the bus rules will lead
to suspension of use of the bus. Parents are therefore requested to sensitize
their ward(s) in this regard. In such an event, the transport charges collected
from the student will not be refunded.

4. Switching bus route is not allowed under any circumstance. In case a student
wishes to switch bus routes, a written application from parent stating the
reason would need to be submitted to the school at least 7 working days in
advance. The decision whether to accept or reject the request is at the
discretion of the school and the same will be intimated to the parent.
5. Students will not be allowed to use the school bus to commute to their friends’
home for parties, get-togethers or any event of a personal nature.

6. In case of students / parent reporting late at assigned pickup / drop off points
twice in a week, a communication to go to the parent in the student planner
on the third day.

7. If a student who opted for bus facility wants to leave early or has to stay back
on a specific day, the Class Teacher to submit a permission slip to the Transport
In-Charge, mentioning the reason for his / her early leaving or stay back. In
this case, the parent/s to organize the student’s pickup from the school.

8. In case of students (Classes VI), children are allowed to go on their own from
the bus stop. However, if any parent wants their child to be escorted by
maid/guardian etc. then submit the letter to transport in charge.

9. Students upto Class V will not be dropped off at their bus stops if their
attendants / escorts are not there to collect them. In case there is no escort
for a student, he / she will be brought back to the school and the parents will
have to make their own arrangement to pick their child up from the school.
The bus attendants are also empowered to check the identity (verifying the
gate pass / parent ID card carried by them) of the escorts before they are
allowed to take the student(s). The school keeps a watch on bus attendants
for adherence to these regulations, but parents are requested to get in touch
with the school administration if they find any laxity on the part of the bus
attendants in any matter.

10. Parents are also requested to inculcate in their ward(s) a degree of respect and
obedience to the bus attendants as they are there to look after the students’
safety and security.

11. The parents are requested to return the ID cards after child is withdrawn from
the school. In case the ID cards are not submitted, there will be a penalty of
Rs.500/ID card that will be deducted from the final settlement amount if any
that school has to pay or the Conduct Certificate / Transfer Certificate will be
provided only after receiving this payment.

1. I am aware that limited bus service on certain routes may be provided and the school reserves the right to
re-route/withdraw/cancel the service partially or wholly.

2. I understand an authorized person has to be at the bus stop to receive the child at the bus stop when dropped,
the school shall not be responsible for ensuring the safe return of the child from the bus stop to his/her
residence.

3. I appreciate that the school needs a commitment from all users in order for the bus to be financially viable
and hence make a commitment to pay the bus fees for the entire academic session (2018-19) term wise.

4. I confirm that if my ward uses the school transport, I will agree to abide by all the rules and regulations that
the School Authorities may find it necessary to enact from time to time.

5. I will undertake bus duty on the bus route availed of by my child, as and when allocated by the school.
