The FP sbparatorvane bundlewhichformsthe heartof the vane separatoremploysthe principle
of centrifugalforce,impingement& gravity.The liquidladengas enteringthe vane separatoris a
mixtureof low densitygas and high density liquid . As this mixturepasses throughthe vane
bundle,it is forcedto changedirectionseveraltimes.The highdensityliquidis unableto change
directionwithout impingingon liquidwalls,whilethe low densitygas can easilynegotiatethe
tortuouspath.At each changein directiona centrifugalforceis impartedon the gas liquidmixture
whichthrowsthe liquidparticles againstthewettedvanewalls.Theseliquiddropletcoalesceinto
largerparticlesand absorbotherdropletsstrikingthe vane.The liquidconvertsto a sheetflow and
travelstowardsthe vane pockets.Once the liquidentersthe vane pocketsthey are trapped&
isolatedfrom the gas streamand draineddown intothe liquidsump by gravity"Sincedropletsdo
nothaveto disengage in thegasflow(counter-currentflow
),the liquiddrainingcapacityis higher,
withoutriskof re-entrainment.
