Gemba Kaizen Practice

Organized by the Association for Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS)


in cooperation with the Pakistan Japan Business Forum (PJBF)

AOTS was founded in 1959 as the first organization in Japan to promote technical cooperation in the private sector, with the
approval of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (currently known as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, or
METI). This training course, subsidized by the ODA budget of METI, is implemented for supervisors and supervisory position
candidates in manufacturing companies in Pakistan.

This program aims to improve the ability of supervisors and leaders at production sites to promote
Objectives workplace improvement (Kaizen ) activities by instilling in them an understanding of the necessity and
importance of workplace improvement, and the conditions required for practicing it in the workplace.

Through lectures by a lecturer sent from Japan, participants will learn about the following:
Features  1) Understanding the necessity and importance of workplace improvement.
2) Understanding the conditions for practicing workplace improvement activities (5S, visual
management, etc.)

A participation fee is collected to cover part of the training expenses.

improvement activities.

Mr. Genji Tanaka (Senior Consultant, Dolphin Training & Consulting)


Mr. Tanaka joined Nissan Motors in 1972, and was sent to study at the College of Business, Illinois
Lecturer State Univ. At the company, he provided guidance on production management and factory management
in India, South East Asia, and other parts of the world for many years. Since his retirement, he has been
providing consulting services on production management, TQC, ISO, etc.

* On the first day of the course in Karachi, 2 hours (13:00-15:00) will be scheduled for lunch and Friday Prayers and the
afternoon session will be scheduled from 15:00-18:30.
