Coupling properties and alignment technique

If there is no looseness in the coupling or

shafts are uncoupled then it is possible to
HORIZONTAL align M machine in both Horizontal and
data Vertical when transducers are at 3 o’clock.
However if there is a possibility of
Transducers at changing the relative angular position of S
3 o’clock
and M transducers (e.g. due of looseness in
the coupling) Vertical data will become
VERTICAL
data invalid. In this case do
Horizontal alignment when transducers are
at 3 o’clock, and
Vertical alignment when transducers are at
12 o’clock

VERTICAL
Transducers at data
12 o’clock – do
Vertical Transducers at
12 o’clock
alignment only

After shafts have been turned

the data in the bottom half of the
display becomes invalid, just
ignore it. Use the data in the
upper half of the display only!

HORIZONTAL
Transducers at 3 data
o’clock – do
Horizontal
Transducers at
alignment only 3 o’clock

3 and 12 o'clock position can be reselected as many times as needed during alignment.
