Assignment No. 1 What is the importance of Telemarketing in Business Industry?

There was a time when telephones enjoyed popularity among the crowd. Companies started
telemarketing in the form of customer service to be able to resolve customer issues. Slowly, telemarketing
became a renowned business to create its own identity. Customers are to be nurtured well only when they
are retained for your business. There may be various aspects of your product/service that needs an
upgrade. Nonetheless, with the upgraded service, if you fail to inform customers about it, there are too
many chances for you to lose a valuable customer forever. Generally, customers appreciate the gesture of
keeping them updated. (Why Telemarketing is important for your business? 2016).

There are lots of reasons why telemarketing is important for business industries. Telemarketing
creates a wide range of options and opportunities for targeted customers. It is the right way of testing new
products and can be a fast way of acquiring new customers. Telemarketing also gives many of the
advantages of face-to-face meetings, and even allows companies to contact many potential customers at a
distance. Telemarketing enables a business to talk to real people. The main benefit of using telemarketing
for your campaign and promoting your business is that it allows you to immediately measure your
customers’ level of interest in your products or services. Direct communication between telemarketer and
customer gives quick responses regarding their questions and needs about the products or services.
Telemarketing is a cheap form of communication per contact. All it requires is a list to initiate contact. This is
far less than door-to-door marketing, advertising via print and electronic media or developing promotion
tools such as brochures or posters. Not only does telemarketing fare well against other communication
methods, but it also is cost-effective. Leads are the lifeblood of every business, and telemarketing puts a
business directly in touch with those leads whereas other methods are less direct and less able to drum up
a new business or ensure that old business stays with a company. The money spent on telemarketing pays
off handsomely in almost every case. (Contributor, 2013).

By using telemarketing, you can quickly expand your business and increase your sales for there are
lots of opportunities that you can create within the industry. It will be easy for you to find new customers and
is an excellent way for you to follow up with your existing customers to keep them interested in your new
offers for your products or services. It is a significant advantage for your business to gain more potential
sales opportunities.

Assignment No. 2: How to become familiar with the skills— “listening skills”

Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process.
Listening is key to all effective communication. Without the ability to listen effectively, messages are easily
misunderstood. (htt2) To be able to do better and enjoy listening and reading you should stay relaxed and
confident. Listen to things that interest you and focus mostly on the meaning. Seek to learn about the
subject matter of what you are listening to.

Listening for meaning is a form of active listening. Active and attentive listeners not only pay attention to
words, but they also focus on the intent of each word–the message a word is intended to communicate. To decipher
messages, first determine the central idea being communicated. Then pay close attention to anecdotes,
explanations, and other details meant to clarify meaning. While you work to improve listening skills, always pay close
attention to the central focus of what is being relayed.

Wherever possible, while listening or reading for meaning, try to focus on a few phrases or terms
that you have just discovered or noticed. This helps the brain retain these expressions and will improve
your listening skills. It also ensures that you stay focused. Maintain your reading activities, whether it is
material for which you have the audio or not. Reading is a powerful way to increase vocabulary. Besides,
when we read in a foreign language, we usually subvocalize, in other words, we make the sounds in our
heads. This is going to help your listening skills.

When you find audio content that you like, where you are interested in the subject and like the
voice, listen more than once to the same audio material. If you like the voice, the intonation and the rhythm
of the language will penetrate your mind better. This not only helps with pronunciation but also with
comprehension. (htt1) Most of all remain relaxed, focus on enjoyment, and be confident that you can
improve your listening skills if you remain committed to these activities.

Assignment No. 2: Define and contrast the different types of marketing.

Marketing strategies are used by businesses to promote their products and services. Marketing
strategy is used by different companies to collaborate with their consumers. It is also employed to aware
the customers about the features, specifications, and benefits of the company’s products. It is basically
focused on encouraging the target population to buy those specific products and services. The marketing
strategies might be totally innovative, or they can be previously tried or tested strategies.
Effective marketing strategies help to get ahead in the competition.

The first type is Paid advertising. This includes multiple approaches for marketing. It includes
traditional approaches like TVCs and print media advertising. Also, one of the most well-known marketing
approaches is internet marketing. It includes various methods like PPC (Pay per click) and paid advertising.
Second is Cause marketing. Cause marketing links the services and products of a company to a social
cause or issue. It is also well known as cause-related marketing. Third is Relationship marketing. This type
of marketing is basically focused on customer building. Enhancing existing relationships with customers
and improving customer loyalty. Undercover marketing strategy focuses on marketing the product while
customers remain unaware of the marketing strategy. It is also known as stealth marketing. Word of mouth
totally relies on what impression you leave on people. It is traditionally the most important type of marketing
strategy. Being heard is important in the business world. When you give quality services to customers, it is
likely that they’d promote you. Internet marketing is also known as cloud marketing. It usually happens over
the internet. All the marketing items are shared on the internet and promoted on various platforms via
multiple approaches. In Transactional marketing, sales are particularly the most challenging work. Even for
the largest retailers, selling is always tough especially when there are high volume targets. However, with
the new marketing strategies, selling isn’t as difficult as it was. In transactional marketing, retailers
encourage customers to buy with shopping coupons, discounts, and huge events. It enhances the chances
of sales and motivates the target audience to buy the promoted products. Diversity marketing caters
diverse audience by customizing and integrating different marketing strategies. It covers different aspects
like cultural, beliefs, attitudes, views and other specific needs.

Scarcity marketing creates a perception of a shortage which aims to entice customers to purchase
out of fear that they may not be able to get it in the future. Execution marketing is designed to provide
regular communication with the captive and prospective audiences so that they ultimately begin to
anticipate it. Any effort that keeps the client connected to their audience can be considered exceptional
marketing. This is a very effective type of marketing because it continues to build an ongoing relationship
with the past and/or present customers.

Assignment No. 4: Techniques in Communication

Communication as the act or process of using words, sounds, signs, or behaviors to express or
exchange information or to express your ideas, thoughts, feelings, etc., to someone else. The first
technique surprisingly is remaining silent. It can be one of the most effective strategies for communication,
especially if are trying to entice someone to share more information with you. Instead of immediately
answering after your partner’s completed statement, remain silent but attentive. This can encourage people
to volunteer more information than they would have done otherwise. Practice this by pairing off, and simply
discussing current events in your life. Second is listening. Communication is effectively useless if you don’t
listen to and comprehend the responses that you get regarding your message. Listening isn’t just using
your ears to collect sounds. You need to understand the things that are said to you in such a way that you
can form a coherent and knowledgeable response. A class or seminar on active listening is one of the most
effective ways to improve your listening skills, and by proxy, your communication skills as well.

Another technique is asking questions because no matter how much information is readily
volunteered, you will never learn everything you need to know without asking a few questions. Mirror your
partner (body language, tone, and energy level). Great communicators establish comfort and trust by
meeting listeners on their level. To accomplish this, they subtly match their conversational partner’s
language style, body language, facial expression, mood, and energy level. By means of calibrating their
tone and body language, proficient communicators can skilfully establish an evenly matched conversation.
This does not only help to ease the dialogue partner, but it also builds the necessary fundament to
accomplish the intended outcome.

Lastly, is smiling. Nothing sets a nervous team member at ease better than a friendly smile. A smile
is your best tool and your best weapon rolled into one. A genuine smile can often entice an otherwise quiet
or reserved person to be more open and willing to communicate. They are invaluable for setting nervous or
apprehensive individuals at ease.

Assignment No. 5: How to develop confidence as the technique in selling?

Confidence in selling can be a huge challenge. For the sales professional, self-confidence is not
something we should take for granted. Sales professionals must have some innate level of confidence
given their chosen profession. Confident individuals tend toward success. this is often very true in sales
since customers and prospects can straight off trust a salesman more if they're assured and
knowledgeable. The extent of your confidence can verify your level of success overall.

One tip for building your confidence in sales is to focus and build upon strength areas. You should
at least know your strengths so that you can work to develop them. Identify an area that you naturally excel
in, and then look for other schemes to develop it even further. One of the best ways so that you can build
your confidence in sales is to surround yourself with successful, goal-oriented people and get rid of any
negative self-talk and negative people in your life. Keep an Open Mind. Successful and confident
salespeople don’t stay the same without growing and settle for mediocre. You’re more likely to be
confident selling your product to prospective clients when you have confidence in what you’re selling.
Apprehend each detail concerning your product or service thus you'll be able to give your clients with the
reassurance they must make a purchase. Tell them however they’ll profit and what they'll expect from your
product or service. It is also important to master communication skills. Put yourself in a mode of continually
learning, and this will help you begin to see there are no bad situations. Rather, they’re situations that
provide you with more opportunity to learn. Ground yourself in your beliefs and your personal integrity.
There is no way others will see you as confident unless you see yourself as confident. Going around
comparing your level of confidence to how other people see themselves will only lead to arrogance. Lastly,
know exactly what your true, authentic self is about – and start allowing the real “YOU” to manifest more
often. In the end, you’re the one who will determine your level of confidence.

Confidence is some things countless individuals struggle with on several levels, and therefore the
natural reaction is to try to control external circumstances to “fix” the matter. It’s completely fine to place
forth outside effort to spice up your confidence in commercialism, like gathering testimonials or having
elaborated information concerning what you’re selling. When you’re a confident salesperson, you can build
confidence in your prospects and customers, and remove any doubts or fears they may have around your
offerings. Don’t delay in building confidence that will positively impact not only your sales career but more
importantly, your life overall.
