Project Abstract

GATES:
Global Affiliate Trading and Exporting System (GATES) is an order
processing export system for aftermarket service parts. It is one of the key systems
used by Parts Supply and Logistics (PS&L) department, a part of Ford Customer Service
Division (FCSD). This system serves as a communication router between many
importers and many exporters. GATES accepts stocking and emergency orders from
various Importers (Ford authorized dealers, Ford Affiliates – FOA/FOI/etc and Ford
Associates – Mazda/Nissan/etc) and distributes them to the Exporters warehousing
system for picking, packing and shipping service parts and accessories.

GDS:

Global Distribution System is a fully integrated data base system to support Ford
Parts and Service Division's (FPSD) role as a parts supplier to Association/Global
customers. GDS provides an efficient and common ordering and distribution system for
the Association partners, FORD Affiliates, Export Direct Markets and Global programs.

Roles & Responsibilities


Hadoop:

 Masking of sensitive data like account number, SSN, contact number etc. by
using Hive UDFs as well as using python scripting.
 Managed Hadoop log files and analyzed log data using the HiveQL.
 Moving data from MySQL to HDFS using Sqoop.
 Experimented to dump the data from mainframe files to HDFS using sqoop.
 Analyzing/Transforming data with Hive and Pig.
 Involved with ingesting data received from various relational database
providers, on HDFS for analysis and other big data operations.
 Created Hive queries that helped business to analyze/forecast the parts
ordering from different markets across the globe.
 Collecting and aggregating large amounts of log data using Sqoop and
staging data in HDFS for further analysis.

Project Abstract

Aetna’s directive to transition to manufactured data in non – production


environments necessitates oversight of any use of PHI/PII/Proprietary data in non –
production environments. Any action that may conflict with or jeopardize successful
manufacture of data or the longevity of reuse of manufactured data. To that end, a
Data governance board is established to institute policies and procedures for the
potentials use of production data in non – production environments and to provide
oversight of adherence to the same.

As an employee of HTC, my major responsibilities include identification of all the


applications which requires compliance to use manufactured data.

Roles & Responsibilities

 Co-ordinate with application SME’s to identify whether the application


requires compliance or not.
 Identify the interfacing application of it has any dependency on the masking
fields.
 To work with DBA’s on the relationship model and identify the relationships
and constraints.
 Perform Extract and convert the PHI fields to be make the application
compliant using IBM optim tool.
 Deliver masked data that can successfully be used for testing in the
enterprise without the loss of PHI Information.

Project : Control-D

Project Abstract
Control-D (BMC Software) is State Farm’s strategic software product for the
management of system-produced documents. The Control-D suite of mainframe and
distributed software products provides the tools necessary for the decollation (analysis
and breakdown), storage, distribution, access, viewing and deletion of production
system outputs.

Control-D is the enterprise solution for the management of both traditional text
output produced by mainframe applications, as well as reports of non-text format such
as those created by server based report generation products (Business Objects, Crystal
Enterprise, etc). Customer notices in Advance Function Presentation (AFP) format are
also supported by the Control-D Application.

Roles & Responsibilities

 Responsible for interaction with Business Partners for Development of


Reports.
 Provides support for developed repots i.e. providing/removing access,
creating RACF group (Access Group), Modification or Deletion of data
generated for the reports.
 Provides support for Control-D Web Access.
 Responsible for tracking of trouble tickets and resolution of escalated support
incidents.
 Coordinates with Customer to resolve technical support issues.
