Throatal Letters
There are six throatal letters which are pronounced from three different
levels of throats.
Whistling Letters
There are three whistling letters i.e. , whenever these letters come we
pronounce these with a whistling voice by putting our tongue behind the
teeth.
Prolonging Letters/Movements
There are seven prolonging letters/movements. Whenever these
letters/movements come we prolong it as per following: -
Rules of Ghunnah
Following are the rules of Ghunnah.
1. We do Ghunnah on with Sakoon (Jazam) but this is a week
Ghunnah and will be canceling if the next letter comes from any of
throatal letters.
2. We do Ghunnah on with Skaoon (Jazam) only in case if the next
letter is . This will be week Ghunnah and will be canceling if
the next letter comes from any of the throatal letters.
3. We do Ghunnah on and Shaddah ( ). This will be strong
Ghunnah and will never be canceling in any case.
4. We will do Ghunnah on Tanveen ( ) but this will also week
Ghunnah and will be canceling if the next letter comes from any of
throatal letters.
Rules of Ramoz-e-Auqaf
1. , whenever these letter or symbols comes
during the recitation of Holy Quran, we should stop there and take
a single breath on that point and then start further recitation.
2. , whenever these letter or symbols comes during
the recitation of Holy Quran, we should NOT stop there and should
continuous the recitation
3. , whenever (sakta) comes during the recitation of Holy Quran,
we should stop there for a while but not to break our breath and
then start the recitation with the same breath.
4. , Whenever (waqfa) comes during the recitation of Holy Quran,
we should stop there for double then the but breath should be
not be broken and then start the recitation with the same breath.
