1. What has been most enjoyable and beneficial for you thus far in CAS?

Based on my experience in dealing with CAS programmes for the past 2 semesters, the most
enjoyable and beneficial part for me is “Activity” and “Service”. “Activity” is the most exciting
due to the fact that it promotes life-long healthy habits which in the end contribute to a healthy
lifestyle. Students can explore different type of approaches, mainly sports, which also helps in
providing a genuine challenge and can majorly benefit the students. “Service” is considered the
most beneficial because it requires grit and perseverance. Students will find it hard because they
need to interact with people out of their circle to gain new benefits from them. The result of
“Service” is more beneficial compared to “Activity” as it ensures students to understand their
capacity to make meaningful contributions to community and society.

2. What has been the biggest challenge for your CAS involvement, and how do you overcome
them?

The biggest challenge in my CAS involvement is the part where we, as a group could not achieve
our targeted sales for that particular week. For every Friday, we would have an annual grand
entrepreneurship sale for each Project Based CAS group. Somehow, along these days, we would
encounter days where our daily profit would not even reach our monthly capital. So for my
group leader, she discussed on how to overcome these critical situations and we agreed upon
strengthening our advertisements to the core and also varying our products each and every
week to ensure a sense of diversity. In the end, we managed to apprehend the any possible
problems in the near future.

3. What have you learned from your involvement in CAS?

The major thing I learned in CAS is how to behave appropriately and ethically in making choices
and also in the portrayal of the human behaviour. As to our knowing, having been involved in
CAS programmes, I was able to lead my group in exploring personal values and newly found
traits, attitudes, attributes with the full reference to the IB learner profile. This is a very crucial
instrument in determining personal and group goals. For example, we, as a team learned how to
implement strong elements to ensure our decision-making process throughout our Project
Based CAS ran as smooth as possible and by the looks of it, it was a huge success.

4. Can you describe a situation where reflection happened very naturally and easily? Did you
have a guided reflection opportunity that was helpful?

The situation occurred as soon as we finished our first Project Based CAS meeting. Our PBC
leader decided to reflect on possible upcoming problems that we might face and venture into to
ensure our project is a success. She then exaggerated on how important it is to have a concrete
bond between each of the group members to ensure there would not be any difficulty within
our ties. She also decided to reflect our aims and vision of the project to make certain of our
idealized goal in the near coming future. Based on the outcome of our first meeting, I managed
to visualise the exact result of the programme and agreed upon the result of the meet-up.
5. In what ways have your CAS experiences, including your project, assisted you in achieving
one or more learning outcome?

Our project, Atlantis 1.0, in full conjunction with Juara Turtle Project, aims to help the species of
the marine life ecosystem in ensuring a strengthen conservation programme especially for the
endangered turtle species. In regards to the aim and vision of the project, we managed to build a
sense of realization with issues of global significance, hence aligning with Learning Outcome 6.
We portrayed our full awareness of issues and tried to take the best possible action in response
to overcoming these problems. We cooperated with the Non-Governmental Organisations in
order to raise sufficient funds and raise a huge level of awareness with regards to upraising
issue.

6. Choose a learning outcome and discuss your evidence of achieving it, and what stands out as
most significant and memorable.

The main learning outcome that I choose is Learning Outcome 4. We managed to achieve this LO
thoroughly and whole-fully through dedicated work and perseverance. We were able to foresee
potential challenges in our initial plan to help the endangered wilderness and consider plenty of
alternative options and contingencies to our initial plan. We were also able to regularly
participate in weekly entrepreneurship sales in ensuring we earned our targeted profit for the
execution of the project. Lastly, we also got our chance to get involved with a long-term CAS
experience in dealing with the Non-Governmental Organisation for more than 8 months.
