The SIDBI program is a constituent of the Interdisciplinary Program in Entrepreneurship,
which is the delivery mechanism, fashioned at IIT Delhi for intensifying Entrepreneurship
Awareness with engineering and science students and faculty and to continuously upgrade the level
of professionalism in this area. The first formal recognition of this area by the Board of Governors
came in 1987 when an Entrepreneurship Development Cell was set up at I.I.T. Delhi with Prof.
Vinayshil Gautam as its coordinators. Support for entrepreneurship activity at IITD has been merited

The Interdisciplinary Program in Entrepreneurship has completed a large number of sponsored

Skill-cum-Technology Up-gradation Programs, Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps,
publication of the book “Technical Entrepreneurship: Issues of Research and Applications”. It A unique non-residential Part-time Course
has worked together with Colombo Plan Staff College, Manila and its members have been on the on developing skill competencies
National Entrepreneurship Parks, National Entrepreneurship Development Board and various other for small industries management
committees. Dr. Sudhir K. Jain has been the Coordinator of this Interdisciplinary Program for
many years.
