Vision and Mission

Our Vision
Empower Economedes High School Library community with innovative resources to
become 21st Century Learners and lifelong readers.

Our Mission
The mission of the Economedes High School Library is to support the vision and
mission of the ECISD by assisting students and faculty in locating and retrieving
information, providing equitable access to the resources available, and increasing
information literacy strategies in a way that supports the curricular goals in a welcoming
environment so that the community may become lifelong learners by endorsing reading.

Objectives
Objective 1: Provide the updated technology.
Objective 2: Enable access to all library resources for students.
Objective 3: Provide materials that support curriculum.
Objective 4: Create a welcoming environment for students.

Strategic Plan
In order to be aligned with the mission and vision of the ECISD, the Economedes High
School Library will pursue the following strategies:

Innovative Technology: The Economedes Librarian will request the replacement of five
computers at a time during the yearly budget submission in order to continuously
improve the technology resources available for students.

Equitable Access: Provide access to all library technology tools through the education
and training on the use of available databases.

Curricular: Collaborate with various departments in the selection of library resources

that support the curriculum.

Environment: A request for comfortable ergonomic furniture will be included in the

budget to create a welcoming environment.
