HUMANOIDS PITCH SHEET

Limbic Nightmares
A Weird Fiction Story
By Writer Abel Salazar
!
Always with a twist a fever dream nightmarish tale ends.
!
A series of short stories that openly combines elements of weird fiction, fantasy, drama,
black humor and horror that ends in unexpected twists.
!
Appeal:
Is about the creative process and how to succeed in writing stories, although this is
proposed to be a series of short stories, each one of them are connected by the presence of
the same man that appears at the end of the twist, always a dream of his as he finds
himself in situations that makes him remember he fantasised about the events of the
stories.
!
THE PITCH:
Sam Garbor is a writer that nurtures his stories from dreams he has, he is constantly
baffled and amazed by the coincidence of finding himself in situations that reminds him
of his inspiring visions tragically affecting him in real life, a world in decadence, a city
polluted by a grey fog, cold and rainy days, where the sun barely finds its way inside the
city obstructed by massive buildings that go through the stormy clouds.
!
THE TWIST:
The revelation at the end of the short stories has a profound impact in Sam’s life, he
might died at the end, feel happy about what he found and the coincidences in his life,
join insane of the revelations and other times he might not be aware of what happens
around him.
The idea is to show to the reader a tale of mystery presenting a world through the world
view of a man and his experiences in a fantastical and weird way, reminiscent of the
interconnected stories of Lovecraft and Tarantino, the endings of Peter Chung’s Aeon
Flux shorts and the anthology series concept of Pizzolatto’s True Detective.
!
THE STORY:
The nature of this story is exponentially different at the beginning for the reason that it
could start in space, inside a dungeon, in 1940’s Poland, in 1810’s Guanajuato, México, it
could be a fantasy adventure, yet every story dwells in the real of weird fiction, fantasy
and horror, ending with the unexpected appearance of Sam Garbor giving a philosophical
analogy of what is happening, always on a grim note regardless of the happy ending.
