The prayer was linked to St. Francis of Assisi around 1917, when it was printed on devotional cards with his image in the back. It was then called:
'Priere pour la Paix'.
It was only in 1927, that a French Protestant organization called "Knights of the Prince of Peace", attributed the Prayer to St. Francis of Assisi.
The Prayer eventually made its way to the
the rest of the world by 1936, after the English translation was published in a book. What does the Prayer do? The Prayer is a powerful instrument for transmuting one's own negative energies into the positive energies of PEACE, LOVE, FORGIVENESS, HOPE, FAITH, LIGHT, and JOY. Incorporated into the Master Choa Kok Sui Meditation on Twin Hearts, the whole world is blessed with the positive energies of PEACE, LOVE, FORGIVENESS, HOPE, FAITH, LIGHT, and JOY. Do the words: PEACE, LOVE, FORGIVENESS, HOPE, FAITH, LIGHT, and JOY, have another meaning? "Without the Teacher, without the teachings, many subjects remain dark, remain obscure."

In his book "Spiritual Essence of Man", GMCKS revealed that the Sephiroth of the TREE OF LIFE are Chakras. In his course on Christianity Revealed, GMCKS explained that the ten Maidens symbolize Chakras. Is it possible that in the Prayer of St. Francis, the words: PEACE, LOVE, FORGIVENESS, HOPE, FAITH, LIGHT, and JOY also correspond to Chakras? "Lord, make me an Instrument of your Peace."
Divine PEACE corresponds to the Crown Chakra.
"Where there is hatred, let me sow Love.
Where there is injury, Pardon."
LOVE & FORGIVENESS correspond to the Heart chakra. "Where there is despair, Hope." HOPE corresponds to the Forehead Chakra. "Where there is doubt, Faith." Faith corresponds to the Ajna Chakra. "Where there is darkness, Light." Light corresponds to the Throat Chakra. "Where there is sadness, Joy." Joy corresponds to the Soul. The Effects of the Prayer
