I began with a blank canvas, stretching it to the size of width, 21, and height 29.1. I colored it black, then created a new translucent layer.
I selected the brush tool, loading the moon brushed by
hawksmont that I downloaded online, on the website Dreambrushes. Com. I made them the size I liked and each time I drew them, it was on a new translucent layer. I did this so that if I did not like the outcome of the brush, I could simply delete the layer.
I colored them different colors, using a broad color palette of
green, blue, red and grey. I liked the way those colors con- trasted with the black background. Whenever I drew them and was not satisfied with the result (the placing of shade of color) I would use the history tool and then draw it again till I was satisfied with their placing, color or size.
I created another layer, with which I loaded the smoke
brushes, created by Wimm. I drew, plum, black and grey and green smoke around the planets, creating a depth to them, that made them pop out and gave them a deep and contrasting dimension.
On the next layer, I loaded more brusheds that I
downloaded form the internet. I used many different brushes; from the star brusheds by hawksmont and organic brushes by Wimm. I used his branch brushes along with wild leaves and bamboo brushes that I really like and en- joyed experimenting with. I used a yellow– green shade with grey undertones. I Iiked the way it contrasted with the red, vivid green and grey planets, and how the black background made it stand out. I also used crack brushes by Blastar, they really brought the piece together. I scattered it around the piece. Overall I really liked the outcome of this piece,
