Administrative Instructions for Students of Civil Engineering

Department
1) All sections have been assigned specific classrooms in Fall 2018, which will belong to the
students of that section for a complete year. Therefore, strict compliance of the timetable
should be ensured.
2) 1st semester and 7th semester students are sharing the same classrooms.
3) All lab classes will be held in the respective laboratories, whereas theory classes will be held
in the designated classrooms.
4) CCTV cameras are installed in the department for continuous monitoring of students’
activities. Any damage/loss of the department’s property or any misconduct observed will be
treated as a punishable offense which may lead to imposition of fine or expulsion from the
university.
Instructions to Students of Civil Engineering Department
1) Students must ensure to have a copy of the prospectus and read it carefully.
2) Visit the electronic noticeboard of Civil Engineering Department
(https://cednoticeboard.wordpress.com) on regular basis to stay updated about the department
academic activities
3) Consult batch advisor (list is available on https://cednoticeboard.wordpress.com) on every
issue during his/her stay at the department.
4) Visit the Campus Management Solution (CMS) (http://cms.nwfpuet.edu.pk) portal regularly
to check their academic status and their transcript. For the login, official ID will be provided
by the department CMS operator.
5) Students are not allowed to change their sections. Furthermore, students of one section
are not allowed to sit in another section in any case.
6) The invoice for tuition fee/admission fee/registration fee will be provided by the department
CMS operator.
7) In case of re-registration of subjects, student must complete the re-registration form in all
respect (available on electronic noticeboard), deposit due fee, get it signed from the batch
advisor and semester coordinator. No registration form will be accepted before depositing due
fee. The form will be submitted at the office of the semester coordinator.
8) If a student misses mid-term paper, there will be no re-arranging of mid-term paper. However,
if a student misses the final term paper due to a genuine reason, and he/she wants to take it
again, the student shall give an application to semester coordinator with relevant documentary
proof, which shall be forwarded to the examination committee by the coordinator office. The
examination committee can either reject the application, or recommend it for the award of I-
grade.
9) A student will not approach a faculty member individually for the arrangement of paper for
the conversion of I-grade case. The student will be required to sit in the exam hall for the
subject with regular students. But the student will have to inform the coordinator office in
advance to sit in the exam hall.
10) As a requirement for the recognition of degree from Higher education commission (HEC) and
accreditation from Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), a student is required to have
minimum of 75% attendance in the class. A student having less than 75% attendance will not
be allowed to sit in the final term examination hall.
11) Every section shall have 3 Class Representatives (CR) to look after the classroom facilities
and as focal persons for interaction with subject teachers. The students will select/elect the
CR among themselves.
12) The CR will also be responsible for the cleanness and tidiness of the classrooms. There will
be cleanness competitions of classrooms of different semesters once in a while, for which
different prizes will be awarded.
13) Application for grade correction/course code correction/result updating/withdrawal of
subjects/freeze semester/I-grade case/course removal etc. is available on
(https://cednoticeboard.wordpress.com).
14) Final year students will be required to make groups, maximum of 3 students in the start of 7 th
semester. The group member shall be from the same sections. There will be total four
presentations of final year projects, two presentations in each semester.

Additional note about maintaining and protecting the aesthetics of the classrooms and the
building

A huge amount of fund has been recently spent on the rehabilitation and renovation of Civil
Engineering Department building. The CED belongs to CED students. Therefore, all CED students
should feel ownership and realize that damaging any part/section/item/equipment/furniture/apparatus
of the department in any way by anyone will actually create problems for the students. All students
are therefore advised to try their level best to maintain beauty of the department and to prevent any
person from trying to damage any part of the building.

Students are further advised in their own interest to maintain cleanliness in their respective
classrooms, corridors, surrounding of the CED building and especially washrooms.
