ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First of all, I’d like to introduce myself. My name’s Desih Purwasih,


please call me Desih, I’m from Karawang. Then, I’d like to thanks Allah SWT
who has given health and long life. Next, I also would like to express my
gratitude to Ms. Uun Nurjanah. The Director of Stikes Kharisma Karawang who
has given opportunity to study here. My gratitude also goes to my lecturer, Mr.
Suparno, for her guidance and help in making some corrections. And then, I’d
like to convey my gratitude to the examiner who have given me time to deliver
a presentation about Hepatitis B.

I’ve divided my presentation into five sections. First, I’m going to start
by telling the background of the problem. Second, I will turn to the definitions
and symptoms. Then, I will concern on the aspect can cause of Hepatitis B..
After that, I will move on the medical treatment. Finally, I will discuss about
the preventions.

If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them at the end.

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1. Background

it is estimated that 240 million people are chronically infected with


HBV and 170 million are chronically infected with HCV. These numbers
far exceed the number of people living with HIV, estimated at 34 million.

the major modes of viral hepatitis B transmission include unsterile


medical injections, blood transfusions, sexual intercourse and injecting
drug use.

2. DEFINITION AND SYMPTOMS

2.1. Definition

Hepatitis is inflammation and liver injury due to hepatic reactions


to various conditions, especially viruses, drugs and alcohol. Hepatitis is
a dominant systemic infection that attacks the liver.

 Appetite is gone
 Fatigue
 Fever
 Sore muscle in whole body
 Nausea
 Gag
 Abdominal pain

Hepatitis B infection is caused by the hepatitis B virus (HVB).

4. THE MEDICAL TREATMENTS

4.1. The Medical Treatments


 Antiviral medications. Several antiviral medications — including
entecavir (Baraclude), tenofovir (Viread), lamivudine (Epivir),
adefovir (Hepsera) and telbivudine (Tyzeka).
 Interferon injections. Interferon alfa-2b (Intron A) is a man-made
version of a substance produced by the body to fight infection.

 Liver transplant. If your liver has been severely damaged, a liver
transplant may be an option.

5.1. The Preventions

Avoid alcohol, not sharing personal items goods

6. CONCLUSION
Hepatitis is a disease caused by several types of viruses that attack
and cause inflammation and damage the cells of the human liver. In
Indonesia, people with hepatitis are generally more likely to have
hepatitis A, B and hepatitis C. As in the type of hepatitis A where the
stools become the main dispersing factor. In this case, environmental
sanitation is the most important factor.
