Assignment Title: Chaucer’s Definition of Love

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal is to end the semester with an A and improve on my essays. I want to have
minimal grammar mistakes and improve with writing an introduction.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this writing assignment was to explain how Chaucer defined love. In this assignment I had to
read the tale to find evidence that supports the definition of love/honor/gender-roles.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I think I performed well I received a 90 so I think I met the expectations of the writing rubric. I found
evidence that supported my claims and followed the prompt well. There are somethings I would do
differently like adding more information to my conclusion.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I think I did well backing up my claims with good evidence form the tale. I think my body paragraphs came
out well. For an example, the quote I picked to back up Chaucer’s definition of love, “I believe that you are
wise and good, and I take you for my tree and faithful wife” (Chaucer 4).

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I chose to revise this writing assignment because it needed improvements such as fixing my quotes and
removing words that didn’t needed to be capitalize like “knight”. Also I need to fix the layout of the paper
like making the title the same size as the rest and removing the header from the second page.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
In my next writing assignment I will do better with my conclusion I think it needed improvements because it
didn’t sound good. Also making it longer, maybe adding more information to my body paragraphs or
conclusion. For an example, my conclusion only had four sentences.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I successfully achieved my previously goal I said I would have a good grade for first semester and I
accomplished it.

3) Revise the paper accordingly and highlight any changes.

4) Submit the revision and this reflection sheet.
