Assignment Title: Social issue essay

Student Writing Goal: My student writing Goal is to stay on top of my assessments and have all of my papers turned in
on time. It gets really difficult to finish all of my writing assignments on time but still manage to turn in my
assignments on time. I need to make sure that I get my writing papers revised.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose of this writing assignment is for us to write about an issue in our daily world. Explaining what
needs to be done. We cannot let the government control our decisions. All us people have a voice that can
make an impact on today’s community.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
The expectation of the writing rubric was a bit difficult but I made sure that everything was included and well
typed about the main topic. Making the topic the main thing about your paper is important because you can’t
talk about your topic and add something that doesn’t support your main topic.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
The piece I did well was when I made sure my main topic was the only thing I talked about. I made sure that
it was talking about abortion nothing else. Making sure that your topic relates to what you type is very
important.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I have chosen to revise the assignment because I want to make sure it’s well typed without any errors and
make sure that it talks about my main topic. It is important to get your paper revised because other people can
help you see errors that you couldn’t see. Revising a paper helps you on understanding what you did wrong.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
What I will do better in my next writing assignment is make sure I get 5 peer edits from my friends. I need to
make sure that my paper is well typed with no errors. The peer editing will help me know what I need to fix
in my paper. I will come in to tutoring to make sure that I get peer edits from my classmates.
To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
The success I achieved in my previous stated goals is I talked about my main topic and supported it. I need to
make sure that I always support the main topic of the paper. I had my paper peer edited before I submitted it.
I always make sure that I have everything before I submit any of my papers. I double check my rubric before
submitting my paper.
