General Project Instructions 
 
Alone  or  in  teams  of  two,  you  will  be  responsible  for  finding  one  local  tourist 
attraction  (Eastern  Townships)  and  researching  it  in  order  to  present  it  to  your 
peers through a presentation and a handout.  
 
Your  goal  is  to  sensitise  your  peers  to  the  hidden  gems  that  can  be  found in our 
own towns and regions, as well as incite them to visit them.  
 
Steps:  
 
1. Decide if you want to be in a team or 
alone. 
2. Sign up on the sheet at the front of 
the class.  
3. Complete the following pages in 
order to organise your information  
4. Create a 1 page poster using google 
docs/word or Canva inviting others to 
visit your attraction following the 
instructions found on a later page.  
5. Prepare a 3 minute flash presentation 
following the instructions found on a 
later page.  
6. Submit all your documents: this pack, 
the poster and, if applicable, the team 
evaluation.

Section B: The Poster 
 
You must complete a poster using Google Docs/Word or another online creation 
website, such as Canva, inviting your peers to visit your tourist attraction in the 
Eastern Townships.  
 
Requirements:  
- The poster must be 8 ½ inches by 11 inches (regular sized paper). 
- The poster must include basic information about the attraction:  
the name, sector of the Eastern Townships, contact information,  
business hours and address.  
- The poster must include a brief history of the attraction.  
- The poster must include a description of their activities. This does not need 
to be a written paragraph but it does need to be easily identifiable (it could 
be with images).  
- The poster must include one picture.

Team Evaluation: If you are in teams, a peer evaluation will be completed at the 
end of the project and the results can affect the final grade by 5 points.

Section C: Presentation  
 
You are responsible for completing a 3-4 minutes presentation regarding your 
chosen attraction. Your presentation should be like a sales pitch: you must 
convince your peers to want to visit it.  
 
You must:  
❏ Name the attraction  
❏ Name the sector of the Eastern Townships in which it can be found;  
❏ Name the town or village in which the attraction is located;  
❏ Name the opening hours;  
❏ Describe a brief history of attraction;  
❏ Describe the activities that can done at this attraction;  
❏ Explain to the class why you believe they should visit this attraction in 
2019.  
 
Remember, your goal is to convince your peers to visit this place in the following 
year. Selected peers will be asked to also evaluate your presentation. This will 
allow for more opinions on your effectiveness in using convincing arguments.
