Getting in Touch With the Media

Introduction

Multimedia Artists and Animators work hard every day, trying to catch the attention of

audiences, by creating special effects, animations, or other visual images. They work with film

and sound editing equipment and the job has many requirements. Their work environments can

be very similar or very different but they all pull through to make their projects or tasks at hand

great.

Tasks

Multimedia artist and animators complete everything from the simplest tasks to the

hardest tasks. They create something great by making objects or charters appear lifelike by

manipulating light, color, texture, shadow and transparency, they even change static images to

give their characters the illusion of moving.

Working Conditions

Many artist work in fine or commercial art studios located in office buildings,

warehouses, or lofts, others work in private studios in their own homes. In my opinion working

in your own home would be unenjoyable. It might decrease your creativity and you would not

have anyone to talk to.

Education

A bachelor’s degree is the minimum formal education required, and although formal

training is not strictly required, Postsecondary training is recommended for all artists specialties.

It will be very hard to become skilled enough with no training at all. You might also have to of

had some sort of experience, for instance artists hired by firms often start with pretty routine

work. While doing this work, they may observe and practice skills on the side gaining experience

for future jobs.

Salary

In Nebraska the lowest amount falls in the 10% range, only making $8.39 hourly and

$17,450 a year. The Average or median salary is $19.15 an hour and $39,830 yearly. If you find

yourself in the 90% category your salary is looking up, by making $28,09 and hour your yearly

salary goes up to $60,280. The salary for this job really depends on location. Cities with a higher

population and higher living expenses are sure to pay more.

Conclusion

In conclusion a job as a multimedia artist and animator has really caught my attention and

it is something I really want to look into. Their task and work conditions seem like something

enjoyable and with a good education and some experience I think anyone could be on their way

to being a multimedia artist and animator.
