Members Participate in Personality


Test & Marcum Rachlin Presentation

Members Take Personality Test Members Went Out & Participated at the
This past Friday (October 29, 2010), Start! Heart Walk & CPE Workshops
members took a personality test. Mem-
bers were divided into four color groups,
red, yellow, orange, and green based on
results from the test. They were then
given some of the positives and negatives
of each group.
Marcum Rachlin also joined us that
night, providing students with informa-
tion about their services and latest SOX laws.

How Do I Look? Seminar


Join us during our general meeting this Friday, while we discuss upcoming events and
opportunities. We will also be having the How Do I Look? Seminar which will give
members samples as well as solid facts about the types of clothing to wear for specific
occasions.

Health Night - Panel Discussion


Join us this Friday for a panel discussion at 7:00pm. Health Night will consist of several
accounting and finance professionals from the Healthcare Industry. They will be speaking
about what career paths they have taken as well as how they play a role in the healthcare
industry.

Personality Quiz
During last Friday’s meeting, members participated in a personality quiz. Members were
told of the several personalities, as well as related with each one.

Understanding the structure of these personalities helps deal not only with those in your
professional life, such as recruiters, employers, and co-workers. But also helps you out with
your personal life, friends and family.

Presentation by Marcum Rachlin


During our last meeting, we had a presentation by the 15th largest firm, Marcum Rachlin.
Dan, tax manager, mentioned the numerous levels one can reach while working at their
firm, as well as their recruiement strategy. Members were also told of several laws placed
by the Sarbanes Oxley Act and how it has affected the company and its employees.

Marcum Rachlin is the Florida operating division of Marcum LLP, one of the largest
independent public accounting and advisory services firms in the nation. Ranked 15th
among the “Top 25 Firms” by Inside Public Accounting, the Firm offers the resources of
more than 1,100 professionals, including more ...than 150 partners, in 21 offices through-
out New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, California, Florida,
Grand Cayman and Hong Kong. In Florida alone, the Firm has more than 200 profes-
sionals, including 30 partners.

Start! Heart Walk


Members came out and supported both ALPFA and the Start! Heart Walk programs na-
tionwide by coming out and walking. The walk took place all around FIU, with a total dis-
tance of over three miles. There were numerous participants and sponsors such as KPMG.
