SCENE ONE
Characters: Rose, Albus, Scorpius
ROSE:
You know Albus, everyone will want to be our friends. Its exciting! I’m a Granger -
Weasley, you’re a Potter, we’ve got the pick of anyone we want at Hogwarts! Our first
year here will be great!
ALBUS:
So, how do we decide which compartment to go in?
ROSE:
We will rate them all and then we will make a decision!
(Albus opens a door into the first compartment to notice a lonely kid Scorpius in an
otherwise empty compartment. Albus smiles, Scorpius smiled back.)
ALBUS:
Hi my name is Albus.
SCORPIUS:
Hi Scorpius. I mean I’m Scorpius. You’re Albus. I’m Scorpius. And you must be…
Rose’s face is growing more annoyed by the minute.
ROSE:
Rose.
SCORPIUS:
Hi, Rose. Would you like some of my Fizzing Whizbees?
ROSE:
I’ve just ate breakfast, thanks.
SCORPIUS:
(excited, talking really fast)
I’ve also have some Shock-o-Choc, pepper Imps, and some Jelly Slugs. My mom’s
idea, she says (singing) “Sweets, they always help you make friends”. Silly idea,
probably.
(looking down at his feet)
ALBUS:
(Grinning) I’ll have some. My mom doesn’t let me have sweets. Where should I start?
(Rose hits Albus out of sight of Scorpius)
SCORPIUS:
I would suggest the Pepper Imp. They’re peppermint sweets that make you smoke at
the ears!
ALBUS:
Great!
(Goes into grab one, Rose hits him again)
Rose, will you please stop hitting me?!
ROSE:

I am not hitting you

ALBUS:
you are, and it hurts.
(Scorpius has a sad look on his face)
SCORPIUS:
Rose is hitting you because of me…
(Albus looks towards Rose with a confused look on his face.)
Listen, I know who you are, so it's only right of me to tell you who I am.
(Looking at Albus) You’re Albus Potter. (Looking at Rose) and you’re Rose Granger -
Weasley. I am Scorpius Malfoy. My parents are Astoria and Draco Malfoy. Our parents..
They don’t get along.
ROSE:
(Rolling her eyes) That is putting mildly. Your mom and dad are Death Eaters!
SCORPIUS
Dad was.. But mom wasn’t. (Rose looks away and Scorpius knows why she did) I know
what the rumor is, and it’s a lie.
(Albus looks from an uncomfortable Rose to a desperate Scorpius)
ALBUS:
(hesitating) What is the rumor?
SCORPIUS:
The rumor is that my parents couldn’t have children. That my father and my grandfather
were so desperate for a powerful heir, to prevent the end of the Malfoy line, that they…
that they used a time - turner to send my mother back..
ALBUS:
To send her back where?
ROSE:
The rumor is that he’s Voldemort’s son, Albus!
(There is a horrible uncomfortable silence)
ALBUS:
It’s probably rubbish. I mean.. Look, you’ve got a nose.
(Tension is broken with a laugh by Scorpius)
SCORPIUS:
And it’s just like my father’s! I’ve got his nose, his hair, and his issues. Not that that’s
great or anything. I mean - father - son issues, I have them. But on the whole, I’d rather
be a Malfoy than, you know, the son of the Dark Lord.
(Scorpius and Albus look at each other and something passes between them)
ROSE:
Uh well, we should probably sit somewhere else. Come on, Albus. Let’s go.
(Albus thinks deeply)
ALBUS

I’m okay here. You go on.

ROSE:
I won't wait.. I'm leaving Albus.
ALBUS:
I don't expect you to wait. I am staying here.
ROSE:
Fine!
(Looks at Albus and leaves the compartment)
(Scorpius and Albus are left looking at each other unsure)
SCORPIUS:
Thank you for staying.
ALBUS:
I’m staying only for your snacks.
SCENE TWO
Characters: Harry, Amos, Albus, Delphi
HARRY:
Amos, I understand I really do ----
AMOS:
When I try to make appointments at the Ministry they say, “Ah Mr. Diggory, we have an
appointment for you, how about two months?” And I wait patiently. Two months pass, I
receive an owl, “Mr. Diggory, my sincerest apologies but Mr. Potter has been called
away on emergency business, let’s reschedule. How about in two months time?” And it
repeats again and again. You’re shutting me out!
HARRY:
Amos, I’m not. I'm afraid. I.. I.. As head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement
am responsible for---
AMOS:
There's plenty you’re responsible for!
HARRY:
Sorry?
AMOS:
My son, Cedric...you DO remember Cedric don’t you?
HARRY:
(remembering Cedric hurts Harry):
Yes, I am so sorry for your loss---
AMOS:
The Dark Lord wanted YOU, Harry...Not my son. You said it yourself that Voldemort
said “Kill the spare.” The spare. My son. My beautiful son was the spare. Help me get
him back!
(Harry looks up astonished)

HARRY:
Get him back? How? That’s impossible, Amos.
AMOS:
The Ministry has a Time Turner, Potter.
HARRY:
The Time Turners were destroyed.
AMOS:
The reason I am here with such urgency is because of the strong rumor that the Ministry
seized an illegal Time-Turner from Theodore Nott and has kept it hidden for
investigation. Let me have my son back.
(Harry pauses, as he find this extremely difficult.)
HARRY:
Amos, you know we can’t play with time.
AMOS:
How many people have to die for the Boy Who Lived. I’m asking you to just save one.
HARRY:
The rumors are not true Amos.
DELPHI:
Hello.
(Albus is startled and jumps up and he sees Delphi peering at them through the stairs.)
ALBUS:
Who are you? This is sort of my house.
DELPHI:
A thief, about to steal everything you own. Give me your wand, gold and chocolate
frogs. (She looks fierce and smiles.)
Okay fine, I’m Delphi Diggory.
She stretches out her hand to introduce herself.
I try to take care of him… Amos. And you are?
ALBUS: (grins)
Albus.
DELPHI:
A potter? Wow! So Harry is your dad. That’s pretty cool isn’t it!?
ALBUS:
Not really, no.
DELPHI:
We don’t choose who we are related to. Amos isn’t just my patient...he’s my uncle.
That’s part of why I took the job at Upper Flagley, Saint Oswald’s Home for Old Witches
and Wizards. It’s tough to live with people stuck in the past, isn’t it?
AMOS:
Delpi!

DELPHI:
Yes, Uncle?
AMOS:
Meet the once great Harry Potter, now a stone cold Ministry man. I will leave you in
peace, Sir. If peace is what you want to call it. Delphi, my chair.
DELPHI:
Yes, Uncle.
(Amos is pushed out of the room. Harry is left, looking forlorn. Albus watches on,
thinking carefully.)
SCENE THREE
Characters: Amos, Delphi, Albus, Scorpius
AMOS:
Why did you listen in on a conversation you weren’t met to hear and then interfere?
ALBUS:
My father lied to you, there is a time turner
AMOS:
Of course I know this you can leave now
ALBUS:
We are here to help
AMOS:
How could a bunch of teenagers be any help to me?
ALBUS:
My father already proved that you don’t have to be an adult to help and make a change
AMOS:
Being a Potter doesn’t mean you have to be involved. Your name doesn’t make you
famous
ALBUS:
I know it doesn’t
AMOS:
You are a Potter in Slytherin House, you brought a Malfoy with you today. On top of this
the Malfoy may be a Voldemort, how do I know that you aren’t involved in dark magic?
ALBUS:
But..
(Amos cuts Albus off)
AMOS:
Your information was obvious and the confirmation useful. I know that your father lied,
now everyone leave and stop wasting my time
ALBUS:

NO you listen, you said it yourself, there is a lot of blood on my father’s hands, let me
help you change that because I know that I can. I want the chance to fix one of his
mistakes.
AMOS:
Did you not hear me? I have no reason to trust you. I don’t want to have to make you
leav
(Amos lifts his wand. Albus looks at the wand in his hand and deflates. Amos has
crushed his spirit)
SCORPIUS:
Come on we should leave. We all know when we aren’t wanted
(Albus is reluctant to leave. Scorpius pulls him and they all turn to leave. )
DELPHI:
Uncle I know why you should trust them
(They stop)
They are the only ones who want to help, who are trying to help. They are putting
themselves and their lives on the line to help you get your son back. Their being here
puts them at risk already
AMOS:
This is Cedric we are talking about
DELPHI:
You are the one who said having an in at Hogwarts would be an advantage
(Delphi kisses the top of Amos’ head. Amos looks at her then turns to look at the boys. )
AMOS:
Why would you put yourself at risk? What’s in it for you?
ALBUS:
I know what it’s like to be the spare. Your son didn’t deserved to be killed and we can
bring him back.
AMOS:
(Finally showing emotion)
My son was the best thing that ever happened to me. It was an injustice you are right. If
you are serious…
ALBUS:
Deadly serious
AMOS:
It will be dangerous
ALBUS:
We know
SCORPIUS:
Do we?
AMOS:

Delphi are you prepared to accompany them?

DELPHI:
If that would make you happy uncle
(Delphi and Amos smile at each other)
AMOS:
You have to understand that getting the Time-Turner will risk your lives
ALBUS:
We are ready to put our lives at risk
SCORPIUS:
Are we?
AMOS:
I hope you can do it.
SCENE FOUR
Characters: Professor McGonagall, Albus, Scorpius, Harry, Draco, Hermione
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
So to be clear-- you illegally jumped off the hogwarts express, you invaded and stole
from the ministry of Magic, you took it upon yourself to change time, whereupon you
disappeared two people.
ALBUS:
I agree it doesn’t sound good.
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
And your response to disappearing Hugo and Rose Granger-Weasley was to get back
in time again-- and this time, instead of losing two people you lost a huge number of
people and killed your father--- and in doing so you resurrected the worst wizard the
world has ever known and heralded in a new age of dark magic. (dry). Youre correct,
Mr Potter, it doesnt sound good, does it? Are you aware how stupid you’ve been?
SCORPIUS:
Yes professor
(Albus hesitates a moment. He looks at Harry.)
ALBUS:
Yes.
HARRY:
Professor, if i may.
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
You may not. What you choose to do as parents is your matter but this is my school,
and these are my students, and i will choose what punishment they will face.
DRACO:
Seems fair.
(Harry shakes his head).
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:

I should expel you but all things considered-- i think it might be safer for you to remain in
my care. You are in detention for the rest of the year. Christmas is canceled for you.
You can forget visiting Hogsmeade ever again. And that’s just the start..
(Suddenly Hermione bursts in, all action and resolve.)
HERMIONE:
What did i miss?
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL: (fierce)
It is considered polite to knock when entering a room, Hermione Granger, maybe you
missed that.
(Hermione realizes she’s overstepped).
HERMIONE:
Ah
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
If I could also give a detention to you, Minister, I would. Keeping hold of a Time-Turner,
of all the stupid things!
HERMIONE:
In my defense--
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
And in a bookcase. You kept it in a bookcase! It’s almost laughable.
HERMIONE:
Minerva.
(There is an intake of breath, Hermione, realizes her mistake.)
Professor McGonagall--
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
Your children didn’t exist!
(Hermione has no reply to that.)
This happened in my school, under my watch. After all that Dumbledore did, I couldn’t
live with myself…
HERMIONE:
I know.
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
Your intentions to save Cedric were honorable, if misguided. And it does sound as if
you were brave, Scorpius, and you, Albus, but the lesson even your father sometimes
failed to heed is that bravery doesn’t forgive stupidity. Always think. Think what’s
possible. A world controlled by Voldemort is --
SCORPIUS:
A horrific world.
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
You are so young.
(She looks at Harry, Draco and Hermione.)

You’re all so young. You have no idea how dark the wizarding wars got. You were --
reckless-- with the world some people--some very dear friends of mine and yours--
sacrificed a huge amount of create and sustain.
ALBUS:
Yes, Professor.
PROFESSOR McGONAGALL:
Go on. Get out. The lost of you. And find me that Time-Turner
SCENE FIVE
Characters: Delphi, Albus, Scorpius
DELPHI:
Whats going on?
(Albus gets out the time turner)
ALBUS:
I’m sorry, Delphi. I am. But, we need to destroy the time turner. We should have never
stolen it. Never tried to go back. Scorpius saw the worst possible world, and then
double it. People being tortured – Dementors everywhere – a despotic Voldemort – my
dad dead, me never born, the world surrounded by Dark Magic. We just – we can’t
allow that to happen. Humiliating Cedric turned him into a very angry young man and
then he became a Death Eater and – and – it all went wrong. Really wrong. I know how
much your uncle loved him. And Scorpius and I wanted to help. We did--
DELPHI:
I understand. (She take the time turner expression changes. She turns so Albus notices
her tattoo)
ALBUS:
Especially since it was my dad’s fau--. Nice tattoo, what is it?
DELPHI:
It’s an augurey. They’re sinister-looking black birds that cry when rain’s coming.
Wizards used to believe that their cry foretold death. My guardian had one in a cage.
She used to say it was crying because it could see I was going to come to a sticky end.
She didn’t like me much. Euphemia Rowle . . . she only took me in for the gold.
SCORPIUS:
The Rowles were pretty extreme Death Eaters
ALBUS:
Come on let's destroy the time turner
SCORPIUS:
Give it back. In – the other world – they called you the Augurey.
DELPHI:
(starting to smile) I like that. Fulgari!
(Scorpius and Albus gets bound)
ALBUS:

DELPHI:
Albus. I am the new past.
(She pulls Albus’s wand from him and snaps it.)
I am the new future.
(She pulls Scorpius’s wand from him and snaps it.)
I am the answer this world has been looking for.
SCENE SIX
Characters: Amos, Harry, Draco, Ron, Hermione
AMOS:
Harry Potter, what can I do for you sir? And Draco Malfoy and Minister Granger and her
husband. I am blessed.
HARRY:
I know how you’ve used my son.
AMOS:
I’ve used your son? No. You sir – you used my beautiful son.
DRACO:
Tell us – now – where are Albus and Scorpius or face the profoundest consequences.
AMOS:
But why would I know where they are?
DRACO:
Don’t play the senility card with us, old man. We know you’ve been sending him owls.
AMOS:
I’ve done nothing of the kind.
HARRY:
Amos, you’re not too old for Azkaban. They were last seen on the Hogwarts tower with
your niece when they disappeared.
AMOS:
I have no idea what you are . . . (He stops, a beat, confused.) My niece?
HARRY:
There are no depths to which you won’t sink are there – yes, your niece, are you
denying she was there under your express instructions . . .
AMOS:
Yes, I am – I don’t have a niece.
(This stops Harry.)
DRACO:
Yes, you do, a nurse, works here. Your niece . . . Delphini Diggory.
AMOS:
I know I don’t have a niece because I never had any brothers and sisters. And nor did
my wife.

DRACO:
We need to find out who she is – now. Let’s look around the room and see if she has
hidden anything here.
(Everyone starts looks around)
DRACO:
This is taking too much time Specialis Revelio! There is a ward around the chimney.
HARRY:
It seems to be protected with a parseltongue password. I need to say ‘Welcome
Augurey’.
DRACO:
Well what are you waiting for
(Harry makes hissing noise and picks up a piece of paper)
HARRY:
Hiss
It’s a new prophecy: ‘When spares are spared, when time is turned, when unseen
children murder their fathers: then will the Dark Lord return.’
HERMIONE:
Wait a moment, well Cedric was obviously the spare. When time is turned is
referencing the time turner which means that she has the time turner. I am not sure
about the last part. Also, why does she need Scorpius and Albus
HARRY:
Because I’m a parent – who hasn’t seen his child. Hasn’t understood his child.
DRACO:
That doesn’t answer the question about who she is
HARRY:
I think I have an answer for that. At the bottom of the prophecy, Delphi has written ‘I will
rebirth the Dark. I will bring my father back.’
DRACO:
Are you telling me that Voldemort had a daughter!
SCENE SEVEN
Characters: Bagman, Scorpius, Albus, Delphi, Cedric
(off stage)
BAGMAN:
Tied for first place Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter. In second place (fades off)
SCORPIUS:
Where is she? We have to find her and make sure she doesn’t hurt Cedric
(Delphi appears)
DELPHI:
Hello boys, do you honestly think you can stop me. I am the future. Cruc--
(points wand at Scorpius)

(from off stage)

CEDRIC:
Expelliamus!
Brachiabindo!
(Cedric walks onstage)
Name yourselves beast so I can fight you.
ALBUS:
You saved us!
CEDRIC:
Are you part of the task? An obstacle? Do I have to defeat you? Speak?
SCORPIUS:
No. You just had to free us. That is the task.
CEDRIC:
Do I have to go on? Finish the maze?
(Behind them Delphi starts moving behind them and crouches)
ALBUS:
I’m afraid you have to finish
CEDRIC:
Alright then. Bye boys
(continues off stage)
(Delphi jumps up and pulls out the time turner)
SCORPIUS:
Albus look!
ALBUS:
She is trying to leave us behind.
(Scorpius and Albus jump at Delphi)
ALBUS:
Where are we? We’ve stopped her
DELPHI:
Stop me? How do you think you’ve stopped me? I am done with this.
(throws time turner down and it is destroyed)
You stopped me from using Cedric from darkening the world. I am done with you
bumbling fools, it’s time to try something new.
(goes off stage boys frozen staring at the time turner)
ALBUS:
This cannot be happening. Its… Its broken. We are stuck here. Merlin we don’t even
know what year it is?
SCORPIUS:
(sees newspaper on the ground and picks it up)
Albus, it’s the 30th of October 1981.

ALBUS:
Oh merlin, tomorrow is when my grandparents are supposed to die. The attack on my
dad as a baby. The moment when Voldemort’s curse rebounded on himself. She’s not
trying to bring about her prophecy, she’s trying to prevent the big one.
SCORPIUS:
Delphi is trying to save Voldemort. She is going to kill Harry herself. We need to get to
Godric’s Hollow. Merlin, we need help, we need to find a way to contact our parents
and get them here in time!
SCENE EIGHT
Characters: Draco, Ron, Harry, Hermione
DRACO:
(Talking to Harry, Ron, Hermione)
The Time-Turner the Ministry seized was a prototype. It does the job but only being able
to go back in time for five minutes – that’s a serious flaw – it isn’t something you’d sell to
true collectors of Dark Magic like my father. He liked owning things that no one else
had. He wanted the ability to go back further than an hour, he wanted the ability to travel
back years. We can go back and save our children. Now we just need to find out when
they are.
SCENE NINE
Characters: Albus, Scorpius, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Draco
ALBUS:
We need to find out a way to contact my dad and tell him when we are.
SCORPIUS:
We could leave a message somewhere for them to find in forty years
ALBUS:
How could we ensure that they get it
SCORPIUS:
(pointing off stage)
Look it's your grandparents and father.
ALBUS:
Wait that blanket she is wrapping him up in. Dad tried to give that to me and he still has
it. I have a really bad idea.
SCORPIUS:
We can’t just write a message. If we write a message on it now, even really small, he’ll
read it too soon. Time will be spoilt.
ALBUS:
What about a time lapse spell? Then we can write the message larger and--
SCORPIUS:
I’m not sure we can cast a time lapse spell that would hold up that long. Or if anyone
would still be able to read it when it did show up-- It might even destroy the thing.

ALBUS:
We have to try, Scorpius. My dad told me he always finds that blanket, he needs to be
with it on Hallows’ Eve – it was the last thing his mum gave him – so he will look for it
and when he finds it, he will see our message
(Harry enters room. He notices the blanket. He walks towards it.)
HARRY:
This blanket is all I have you know . . . of that Hallows’ Eve. This is all I have to
remember them. And whilst—
(He picks up the blanket. He discovers it has holes in it. He looks at it, dismayed.)
This has got holes in it. Look at this. It’s ruined. Ruined.
(He opens up the blanket. He sees writing burnt through it. He’s surprised.)
Ron, Hermione, Draco get in here!
(Ron, Draco, Hermione enter)
HERMIONE:
What? Are you alright?
(Harry points to the blanket)
HARRY:
There is something written on it
HERMIONE:
Give me that. My eyesight is better than yours.‘Dad Hello Good’ – that’s not ‘Hello’
again – that’s ‘Hallow’ or ‘Hollow’? And then some numbers – these are clearer – ‘3 . . .
1 . . . 1 . . . 0 . . . 8 . . . 1’. Is this one of those Muggle telephone numbers? Or a grid
reference or a . . .
HARRY:
No. It’s a date. 31 October 1981. The day my parents were killed. That doesn’t say
‘Hello’. It says ‘Help’. ‘Dad. Help. Godric’s Hollow. 31/10/81.’
DRACO:
Well what are we waiting for let’s get to Godric’s Hollow
SCENE TEN
Characters: Draco, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Albus, Scorpius
DRACO and HARRY:
SCORPIUS!/ ALBUS!
ALBUS/SCORPIUS:
Dad!
HERMIONE:
I am so glad that you two are alright. Is Delphi nearby?
SCORPIUS:
We haven’t seen her yet
RON:
Okay we just need to stop her from killing Harry

HARRY:
Then what is she waiting for
HERMIONE:
What if she’s not waiting for you but waiting for him… to stop him. The best way to
break the prophecy is not to kill Harry Potter, it’s to stop Voldemort from doing anything
at all.
DRACO:
So in order to stop Delphi we need to stop her from stopping Voldemort from trying to
kill scarhead.
HERMIONE:
Exactly
RON:
So let me get this right. We’re fighting to protect Voldemort. This is bloody mental
HERMIONE:
I’ve come up with a plan. Harry you are going to have to transform into Voldemort, draw
Delphi into here where we will bind her and stop her from ever stopping Voldemort
SCENE ELEVEN
Characters: Harry, Delphi, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Albus, Scorpius, James, Lily,
Voldemort
HARRY/ VOLDEMORT:
Whoever is following me show yourself
(Delphi steps onto the stage)
Leave I do not know you
DELPHI:
I am your daughter
HARRY/ VOLDEMORT:
If that were the case I would know you
DELPHI:
I am from the future. The child of Bellatrix Lestrange and you. I was born before the
Battle of Hogwarts, a battle that you will lose. I have come to save you. Together we
would change the world. You could rule the world with me by your side
HARRY/VOLDEMORT:
While you do look like her but without proof
(Delphi hisses)
HARRY/VOLDEMORT:
I see what you are and what you could be, daughter
DELPHI:
Father, you must listen to me you cannot attack Harry Potter. His mother’s love will
cause your spell to rebound and will destroy you.
HARRY/ VOLDEMORT:

(Harry leads Delphi towards the others as they walk through the doors)
HERMIONE/RON/DRACO:
Brachiabindo!
DELPHI:
No! You are not my father
(Harry transform back)
HARRY:
It is finished. History will run its original course.
DRACO:
(Looking off stage)
Potter, he’s here
HARRY:
He is going to kill my mum and dad and there is nothing I can do about it.
HERMIONE:
Harry, you don’t have to watch
HARRY:
I’m letting it happen… I have to watch
(OFF STAGE)
JAMES:
Lily, take Harry and go. I’ll hold him off
VOLDEMORT:
Avada Kedavra
ALBUS:
(Takes Harry’s hand)
He did everything he could
HARRY:
That’s my mum, at the window. I can see my mother, she looks beautiful
LILY:
Not Harry, not Harry, please not Harry
VOLDEMORT:
Stand aside, you silly girl… Stand aside now
LILY:
Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead, please I’ll do anything
VOLDEMORT:
Avada Kedavra
(Harry frozen looking off stage)
SCENE TWELVE
Characters: Albus, Harry
ALBUS:

Dad? Are you okay?

HARRY:
Honestly, I’m not sure. Before we go back, I wanted to talk to you.
ALBUS:
Thank you for coming after me and Scorpius. I was stupid and angry and I messed
everything up. I tried to help but everything I did just made things worse. I was so
scared and still am. How can I not be scared, how can I be more like you.
HARRY:
Albus, I was scared. I was terrified. So many things scare me, small spaces, the dark,
your mother.
ALBUS:
You’re scared of mum?
HARRY:
Have you seen her bat-bogey hex? If you know what’s good for you, you’d be scared
too. But do you know what scares me the most?
ALBUS:
What?
HARRY:
Being a dad to you. Because I am operating on wires here. Most people at least have

So as I see it either we can stay here or go back and face an angry Mum. You know
what, I’m thinking that staying is not looking too bad.
HARRY:
Have you seen your mum when she is angry? I don’t think that the small fact of time
travel would stop her. The sooner we go back the sooner the howler level shouting is
over.
