Through this quiz, I gained a greater understanding of computer and software vocabulary will

allow me to utilize various features to a higher degree.


1/21: Module 2—21st Century Workplace Skills
21st Century Word Notes: This module was a great review for me. The Word document project,
and the notes we took with it, gave me a great refresher on the various tools in Word. The
lessons on the history of computers and programming, along with the lessons on file extensions,
software parts, hardware parts, and internet browsers was also really helpful. I can definitely
apply this to my future teaching career, understanding how to utilize Word and sharing that
information with my students.
Search for Job Postings: This activity really gave me insight into what my future careers look
like, and how I can further research these positions. I felt that this activity was very useful, and I
feel that I have a better understanding of the modern job market now.
1/28: Module 3—Creative Commons and Legal Issues
Creative Commons: This was a great lesson on learning what I can and cannot use in the
classroom due to copyright. Having a deeper understanding and knowing the difference between
various copyright licenses will allow me to choose appropriate material to show in class.
Legal Quiz on Copyright: Through this quiz, I gained a greater understanding of legal and copy
right vocabulary, which will will allow me to utilize various medias to a higher, more legal
degree. It ensured that I comprehended each term to its fullest, and could recognize the symbols
associated.
Discussion: This allowed me to interact with other students on computer security. I don’t feel
that this was an essential activity, but it was an interesting experience to see others’ viewpoints.
2/4: Module 4—Design Principles & ePortfolio Website
Design Principles: I felt that the notes on Design Principles were really informative, and they are
something I am going to keep in mind in any of my future deigns, whether it be for a
presentation or a worksheet for my students!
Strategic Map Planning: I also really enjoyed the Strategic Map Planning website we used, and I
definitely plan on incorporating that as a part of planning essays for my students. I definitely feel
that it is a useful piece of technology.
Weebly Website: I am excited to start building a website and learn more about website design! I
think this a useful skill to have, and can be applied especially in the modern social media
interactions.
2/11: Module 5—Social Media and Power Point
Social Media: I really liked the inclusion of social media in this week’s module. Social media
presence is essential in this day and age, and my future employers and students can discover a lot
about me from my internet presence. Making sure that I am presenting myself the way I want to
be perceived, and knowing how to incorporate my social media presence in outside areas was
very helpful!
Power Point: Additionally, knowing how to utilize Power Point was another very important
aspect that I will definitely use in my lessons as a teacher. Creating the Tech Talk Presentation
cemented a lot of the design skills and information communication necessary in teaching.
2/18: Module 6—Web 2.0
Animation: I thought that the Powtoon animation provided an interesting alternative to a typical
Power Point presentation. I’m not sure if I would utilize it in my own classroom, but I feel like it
is a good skill for me to have. It may be something I could have my students use to summarize a
book or project that we do.
2.0 Activities: I really enjoyed the podcasts that we found though, and I will definitely be
listening to mine more in the future! It is such an interesting medium—the modern radio talk
show, in a way, as it is more accessible, yet still shares a lot of radio features. Polling is always a
useful tool, as a way to get feedback from students, employers, parents, etc.
2/25: Module 7—Photo Editing & Graphic Design
Photo Editing: I felt like this module was very useful! Learning how to use photo-editing
software and designing various types of media are skills I can definitely use in my future career
and in life itself!
Graphic Design: I feel like the graphic design elements can be used to create flyers or
information sources for my students in the future. Creating the QR code and “flyer” design was
an interesting way to format information, though I’m unsure how often I will use it.
3/2: Module 8—Excel & Google Drive
Excel and Google Drive are key applications—Excel is used daily in business and finances,
whether it be budgeting for a household or for a company, and Google drive is the most modern
method of digital access to files and sharing said files. This module was perhaps the most useful
so far, and I loved the lessons in Excel! I now feel much more competent and confident in using
it and I can’t wait to further apply my skills.
3/18: Module 9—Infographics
Infographics are a great way to quickly spread information in a visually appealing manner! I
really enjoyed creating my own and learning to manipulate it in certain ways to draw attention
and interest my audience. I think this is definitely something I will use in the future, whether it
be for my own resume or as a get-to-know-you project for my students.
3/25: Module 10—Screencast and Screenshot
This module was so informative! In a world where digital classrooms are on the rise, knowing
how to create a screencast can really be utilized in online education, demonstrating to students
how to accomplish certain tasks and provide lessons online. Knowing how to screenshot and edit
is also useful in demonstrating information for students.
4/1: Module 11—Google Products/Team Research
Learning to utilize google products is super useful! In this project, I learned how to use Google
forms, documents, presentations, and websites, all of which have built my networking abilities. It
was great to practice with a software that is so shareable and versatile, and I really can utilize this
in making an accessible online classroom.
4/8: Module 12—Emerging Technologies/Coding
Practicing coding was a really interesting experience and one that I had never undergone before.
I’m not necessarily sure if it is one that will follow me into my career, but overall it was fun and
something that I would do again!
4/15: Module 13—Digital Storytelling
Creating a video and editing in various other files, images, and text was a great and informative
experience! Its definitely something I can utilize in my future profession as a teacher, and it’s a
great way to create video lessons and in-class showings of explanations.
4/22: Module 14—Cover Letter/Resume
Creating a cover letter and a resume with Microsoft applications is extremely relevant to my
future. This definitely will help while applying to jobs and pursuing careers in the future, and I
will be using this in the future when updating my resume and other materials.
