ABSTRACT
It is well known fact that Digital India is the
outcome of many innovations and
technological advancements. The motive is
to build participative, transparent and
responsive system. As every nation wants to
be fully digitalized and this programme is
going to provide equal benefit to both user
and service provider. The Digital India drive
is a dream project of the Indian Government
to remodel India into a knowledgeable
economy and digitally empowered society.
Hence, an attempt has been made in this
paper to understand DIGITAL INDIA – as a
campaign where technologies and
connectivity will come together to make an
impact on all aspects of governance and
improved the quality of life of citizens.
INTRODUCTION
The digital world that will live in today is that
where every civilian has a bright prospect to
transform the lives in many ways that were
hard to envision just a couple of years ago. It
is the outcome of several innovations and
technology advances. Today, every nation
wants to be fully digitalization. A DIGITAL
INDIA is government of India initiative to
ensure government services are made
available to people online by increasing
internet connectivity the vision of
DIGITIAL INDIA programme also aim at
inclusive growth in areas of electronic
services, products, manufacturing and job
opportunities, etc . The vision of DIGITAL
INDIA is centered on three key areas – 1.

time overrun, participation of private players.
Digital India as towards digitalizing

every citizens of India will participate in this
transformative impact, this project will turn

IMPACTS
This ‘Digital India’ program had a great
impact on the economic growth of India
which is increased by 0.4% i.e. 7.3% in 2015
then 6.9% in 2014. It had a positive impact
on India’s GDP, create employment
opportunities for 17 million people, planned
to give IT training to 100 million students of
small villages. It also ensures broadband
connectivity in field of education. Every
village is provided with universal phone
connectivity. Telecom operators get
additional revenue. With the ‘ MAKE IN
INDIA, campaign & ‘DIGITAL INDIA’ , the
nation is planning to achieve net zero imports
by 2020 and moreover making India a
manufacturing hub will change the trend as
till now it was focusing only on software
development.
ECONOMIC IMPACT:- According to
analysts , the Digital India plan could boost
GDP up to $trillion by 2025 . It can play a
key role in macro-economic factors such as
GDP growth, employment generation.
SOCIAL IMPACT:- Social sectors such as
education, healthcare and banking etc. The
poor literacy rate in India is due to
unavailability of physical infrastructure in
rural and remote areas. This is where m-

by reaching remote masses. According to
estimates, the Digital literacy in India is just
6.5% and the internet penetration is 20.83 out
of 100 populations . The Digital India project
will be helpful in providing real-time
education and partly addresses the challenges
of lack of teachers in education system

provided through mobile devices.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: The Major
changes in the technology space will not only
brought changes to the Economic system but
will also contribute to the environmental
changes. The 9 pillars of Digital India
programme clearly confirms that India as a
nation is as its nascent stage . One can easily
assure that India will be Digitally ready in
next 3 years.
LITERATURE SURVEY
Digital India is the outcome of many
innovation of technology advancement. The
program contains tasks that target to make
sure that govt. services are available to people
digitally and people get advantage of the
newest information and connections
technological innovation. Today technology
makes the bridge and connects the whole
world by educating and awaring them about
the opportunity of interest and access to
information. This program mainly focuses on
educating the village people and transforms
the INDIA into a digitally empowered
society. This program ensures that every
citizen should get the government services
electronically and also aims to transform ease
of doing business within or outside the
country. The Information technology
department anticipates that this program will
have a huge impact on ministry of
communication and IT. This program is
projected Rs. 1,13,000 crore which will
prepare the country for knowledge based
transformation. Digital India program
focuses on providing high speed internet
services to its citizen which is available at all
time and providing broadband services in all
villages of the country, telemedicine and
