Nigeria Manufacturing Expo 2017 is endorsed and supported by the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Group of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria
(PMGMAN).
The Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Group of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (PMGMAN) will participate in the Nigeria Manufacturing Expo and co-located
mPAD Forum (Manufacturing Partnerships for African Development). All PMGMAN members are invited to become involved in and attend the mPAD & Nigeria
Manufacturing Expo 2017.
Nigeria is one of the most promising and rapidly growing pharmaceutical markets in West Africa with more than 150 pharma formulation manufacturing
facilities. The Nigerian pharma industry is growing at 13 % annually. The estimated market size is $1.8bn. In the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African
States) West Africa sub-region approx. 60% of drug manufacturing takes place in Nigeria, underlining the huge sub regional market.
The Federal Government of Nigeria are incentivising Nigerian drug manufacturers with tax holidays to support extra investment for quality upgrades and
new factories.
Nigeria’s pharmaceutical manufacturing sector has remained focused on the growth and expansion of drug manufacturing within the country. The sector
has invested $300 billion in machinery and quality upgrades as a way to end drug importation.
PMGMAN on September 2015 announced four Nigerian drug manufacturers had met the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) requirements for good
manufacturing practice.

Managing Director of Evans Medical and West African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association president, Bunmi Olaopa, said due to the upgrade of
pharmaceutical companies in Nigeria, many manufacturers are presently elevating the standards of their factories, while others are on the lookout for
partners. “Many more in Nigeria and Ghana are also in the process of acquiring pre-qualification.
FBN Capital PMI reports that headline reading rose to 51.6% from 49% for September 2015, which shows a healthy increase of business activities and
confidence in the manufacturing sector
